I’m in full grooming mode for Fashion Week. Today it’s hair and nails.
My reasoning is that if my roots are done and nails are looking pretty then the rest can kind of fall into place.
Well … That’s the plan. Come back on Sunday when I take you through what I’m packing. If you thought I went a little overboard for my trip to Melbourne last month, be afraid, be very afraid about what I’m packing for a whole week away 😉
But back to my hair. Last time I was at my hairdressers*, my hair was treated to an unbelievably amazing treatment.
I’m getting this again today to ensure super swishable hair for Fashion Week. Because that’s important, right? The swish factor?
Kerastase calls their treatments rituals – and I like that they are played out that way. I’ve blogged before about the Chronologiste ritual, which my hair LOVED, but I think Kerastase’s new system of rituals is one giant step up.
Fusio Dose is its fancy schmancy name. And I’m here to tell you its game is all about customising a treatment specific to your hair’s primary and secondary needs. It’s not just addressing one need, which is great for those of us who have multiple hair “issues”.
The formula that was used on my hair was one of 56 made-to-measure combinations.
My hair is dry, coloured, weak and thick, so my stylist measured out doses of two or more different formulas – including a concentrate for dry hair and boosters for weakened and coloured hair – to create a master formula right in front of me that worked best for MY hair.
It’s an ideal Hair Health Helper.
Yes, I look after my hair at home – each time I wash it applying Dove Nourishing Hair Oil or Kerastase’s Ultime Exlir – but my hair LOVES some salon attention. A bit like cleansing and moisturising your skin on a daily basis and then treating yourself to a facial.
Something I should do more often.
The formula was left on my hair and given a super boost under the micro mist machine … which heats up the hair before cooling it down. It takes a bit more time this way but in my opinion so worth it. Even if I look like something out of a sci-fi movie.
The bonus with something like this treatment or ritual is that you will feel the benefits in your hair immediately AND for about eight washes afterwards.
That’s a whole lot of swishing. Yes it is.
Have you ever had an in-salon treatment for your hair?
* My hair was treated to the Kerastase Fusio Dose ritual as a guest of Suite Three Hair, Buderim. Cost: From $35 (concentrate, one booster, no micro mist, excludes blow dry). To locate your nearest stockist, phone 1300 365 552 or visit www.kerastase.com.au

Treatments are amaze for your hair, I absolutely love them…and of course don’t have them done nearly often enough. As Kim-Marie said to me when I posted a pic of my new ‘do the other day, you look “Swishy McGorgeous”!! xx
oops that was me haha x
I like the look of this Nikki, will look out for it, I had more blonde in mine last time and it definitely changes the condition.Â
you will be fab for fashion week 😉
Hair and nails sorted … feeling very fab! x
I’ve never had a treatment, but with the way my hair is (coloured & thin), I could probably use one. I went and had my hair cut today in preparation for next week. I feel lucky that I like in Sydney, but wish I could have stayed in the city, not looking forward to over 2 hours on a train every day!
Looking forward to seeing you Natalie!
Your hair looks wonderful after it’s swanky named treatment ,and it looks as though you had a lovely relax whilst doing it.I might look into this treatment next time I get my hair done ,the only good thing about getting older that is that my hair doesn’t need washing as often ,must be dry like my skin, though I do give it a lot of TLC in between salon visits
Yes I totally  agree if your hair looks amazeballs you will feel amazing too.
I can’t wait to see what you are going to pack for a whole week to go to fashion week, lucky you, you will need so many choices will you not !Â
I don’t wash mine so much either Lisa … and I’m scared already about how much I’m going to pack!!
EVERY time I go to the hairdresser (about 10 weeks?) it’s a deep conditioning treatment.  One and a half hours of being coddled and emerging with gorgeously soft hair. I have long dry hair and always use good stuff from from the health food shop (so no chemical nasties for my skin to complain about). Currently Dr Otto Rose shampoo and conditioner (sucker for anything that smells of roses). And yes, leave in conditioner most nights, plus Argan oil on a daily basis. I used to be really organised (when I was single) and do the olive oil, wrap in towel, potter around for an hour then wash (which was really good), but those days appear to have vanished for the moment.
I agree with Thea – it sounds as if half the fun is the getting ready! Enjoy yourself 🙂
Thanks so much – am having fun with the prep work – most stressful part is organising the children!
Never had a salon treatment, in fact, I generally cut my own hair and dye it every six months. Although that’s only been the last two years. Before I cut my hair I never died it ever. Although I do think I need a new conditioner!
My 6-week salon cuts and colours are a firm part of my maintenance routine!
I wish I could be so organized for a trip away. The preparations are really half the fun. Enjoy! I love hair treatments but haven’t had one for awhile. I do love Argan Oil, though. Brilliant stuff. Our local deli has it for sale for cooking. Awesomely expensive but I am tempted to try it as it must work better from the inside out.
Oh, now I wonder … I suspect you’d have a great result long term!
Looking fab Nikki! Yes get all the ducks in a row. Its getting exciting!
Yes, it is … getting my ducks – the kids – in a row is the trickiest!!
