It will be strangely quiet in our house this week. Mr Styling You has returned to work, my teens are with their dad and our visiting friends have returned home. It will just be me and Mr 6.
Hanging out.
Trying to squeeze every last drop out of that summer feeling we felt every day over the past two weeks.
It’s been a fortnight of lazy starts, beach mornings, compulsory siestas and mandatory wine times.
Of salt, sand and zinc-encrusted skin.
Of sun and sweaty stickiness.
Of trying to stay cool while the going gets hot.
And that my dear Stylers has given me the summer blues. In a good way.
My summer uniform of sorts has become a blue one. Three short, flowy, blue-toned cotton frocks have become my go-to summer faves.
Each is SO easy to wear, keeps me cool and works equally as well with a pair of thongs as with a pair of wedges.
Each can be popped in the wash, popped on the line and be ready for me to wear again the next day. If I want to add a little bit of extra length, I layer a white cotton Metalicus tank dress underneath. Too easy.
On the ferris wheel at Aussie World for a friend’s daughter’s birthday.
Keeping cool under the cotton tree at The Boatshed, Cotton Tree.
Hanging out with the uber-stylish Uberkate at The Boatshed.
Lunch at Bistro C, Noosa, with Mrs Woog
Spa-ing at Stephanies Ocean Spa, Noosa (more to come on THAT tomorrow)

With all this blue in my life, is it any wonder my toes got the memo as well?

I didn’t enjoy my summer because I was too busy with my online business =)
I love these dresses Nikki. Blue is my favourite colour and blue & white one of my fave combos of colours do wear. They remind me of the China pattern in a way too. I’ve been thinking about blue nail polish & think I might try to find a pastel blue, you’ve inspired me! Fab post, as always!! Xx

Thanks Cat … and yes, I was in a tea shop yesterday and saw sets very similar to the patterns on these dresses!
They look so comfortable Nikki. Just this weekend I found the perfect summer dress – an original 1950s day dress in green gingham. It’s beautiful, so well made and tailored! I have become a vintage dress convert.

The nails would match your cottage 😉 And yes, I did wear the All for Kat dress in KL. It’s super hot and humid here today. We got an early swim otherwise I think I’d be sitting here boiling in my own skin. x
lady you are quick 🙂
p.s. any space in that Boatshed for a girl who drinks Limoncello 😉

Most definitely! You would LOVE it x
Well hello Betty Blue! I think there’s a place in my wardrobe for one of those Morrison shirt dresses…
I have covered thousands of km’s these holidays, everything from cold rainy weather, to being on a farm in heat, to harbour side Sydney to lazy lunches and beaches at Margaret River. My wardrobe is in need of restocking!!

Quick … get clicking! They’re on sale too. And I’m a little bit envious of your varied holiday destinations. Sounds fantastic.
They are the perfect Summer dress, Nikki. You look sublimely relaxed and chic in every one of them. x

Thanks Bron … is really hot and sticky today … back from beach and still in my swimsuit!
I love the matching toenail polish – so gorgeous! We haven’t had much of a summer in New Zealand, all rain – rain – rain & more rain!
Very nice dresses, as I sit here in 41 degree heat, I eyed them off and thought I could do with those, so popped over to the morrisons ones( I need the volume!) and hooked myself a couple of shirt dresses on sale, one with the v neck and the other with the (grandpa) collar. yay!

Thanks April … yes, had an awesome time … a bit slow today!
I am so jealous of your time off. What a fun crowd you run with. At least I can live vicariously through you. Rachel Xxxx

We were so lucky to have a holiday come to us so that we actually did holiday stuff instead of housey stuff!
I thought you looked gorgeous. Relaxed, flowy and perfect for summer! I was meaning to tell you that 🙂
I think anything flowy is mandatory for hot weather, I can’t stand anything close to my skin. And cotton is just the best. I need to hunt down some cute frocks xx

I think I’ll be flowy for some weeks … crazy, hot days ahead x
Love the matching nail colour or should I say toe colour. I’m with you on the summery frock thing. So cool and easy to wear and eat in, I might add :). A godsend over the festive season.
