If you’re looking for beautiful boho-style pieces in sizes 14-24, let me introduce you to Ada and Lou. Who am I kidding? You already know and love this label as much as I do, don’t you? It’s the brainchild of two blogging friends of mine, Chantelle and Rebel. Chantelle (Fat Mum Slim) is one of Australia’s OG bloggers, who inspired me to look at this whole blogging caper differently way back when I didn’t know I was blogging.

They both have a love of bohemian-style pieces and are helping more women feel that love through beautiful designs that fit and flow in a way that makes you feel amazing wearing them.

I’ve got two Ada and Lou pieces in my wardrobe from last summer that are back on high rotation and I’m excited to share with you my new fave piece from the label’s latest Daydreamer collection.

Ada and Lou dress (I’m in XS – 14) | FRANKiE4 Footwear NADiA wedges (currently out of stock) | Sunnies

There is so much to love about this dress but I’m going to start with the fabric as it’s so important to me in summer to have dresses that you can throw on and know they will feel soft on hot and bothered skin. Maybe I’m showing my stage of life here but I cannot stand fabrics that irritate, especially in summer. This is a viscose-rayon and ticks all my summer essential boxes. TICK.

That divine print of summer blues wrapped up in a bohemian floral that is timeless? TICK TICK. I love the contract panels on the shoulders, waist, sleeves and hem, and the small details like the covered buttons and tassels.

The third TICK goes to the amazing shape. It’s the perfect combination of floaty and (loosely) fitted – how I like to roll in summer. The waist tie can be tightened to create more waist definition but even wearing it loose, as I have, there is shape to the style. There are cute visible pockets and the buttons are functional, so it’s breastfeeding friendly. I love that the sleeves are loosely elasticated at the wrist, making it easy for you to adjust where the sleeve will sit.

I’m 166cm and the length is perfect for me, with the XS hitting to just the top of my knees. Check the garment measurements in your size to see where it would fall on you.

Please note: This item has a slight shipping delay {as a pre-order item} and will be shipped within four weeks. Any pre-orders shipped in December will be upgraded to complimentary EXPRESS postage to ensure a delivery before Christmas.

  1. Hi Nikki, you are the only person I know here in Brissy who has a finger on the pulse of small businesses and in particular supporting local businesses.

My daughter in law makes candles in her house in Hawthorne. This year she intends to make “ thank you baskets” for her stockists. Marina believes in supporting small businesses/ start ups run by women(because she is one herself).

Do you know anyone who makes Christmassy “stuff” which she could include in her baskets?
