I can’t tell you how wonderful this shape flows and sits on the body. The empire line waist works for me, giving the illusion of a much longer waist than I have. I love that you can adjust just how tight you’d like the waist to be, just by the tightening of the drawstring. Also adjustable is the depth of the v-neck. Just open or shut as many hook and eyes as you’d like.

The fabric is a viscose that feels a bit like the “cheesecloth” fabrics of the ’70s. It’s breathable and totally perfect for a hot summer’s day. I love where the sleeve length falls to help balance out the proportions of the maxi hemline.

It says on the product listing that it’s slightly transparent but I didn’t find that with this particular colour. I’m just wearing skin-toned underwear.

I’ve dressed up this maxi with heeled wedges but it would also work with sandals or for throwing on over a swimsuit for a day at the beach. Wearing a tan belt around the empire waist would also be a styling option for those who want even more waist definition. If the weather is cool, simply add a denim jacket. 

Heads up: this style is also available in deep blue and scarlet (hello Christmas!).
