The Sneaker Test: make sure you new clothing purchases pass it

The Sneaker Test: an unscientific experiment whereby you test the wardrobe versatility of a garment. If said skirt, dress or pant can be worn with both a heel OR a pair of sneakers, it passes the test. Go straight to the smug zone this fashion season.

Ok, so the whole “wear sneakers with anything” look has been around for a few years now but we can all agree that it’s ramped up a notch or six this year thanks to COVID and our prized heel collection collecting dust in our wardrobe, patiently waiting for a time when they can come out and party.

My hot tip this fashion season to you is this: before adding to cart ask yourself, does this soon-to-be-purchased piece of clothing work back with sneakers? If it does, hit that checkout button with confidence that you’ll wear it often.

My sneakers of choice … no surprise here … are by FRANKiE4 Footwear. The sneaker range available now is HUGE. There is a style and colour to suit everyone’s foot shape and taste. If you’re unsure about which shape is right for your foot, contact the customer service team or book an appointment with an online shopping assistant.

To give you some Sneaker Test style inspiration, I’ve put together a video featuring four of my favourite heels transitioning to four of my favourite sneakers. Same outfit; different shoes.

  1. I’d love a pair of the Kourtney with Zebra detailing which will boost the animal appeal to my outfits, got to love a white sneaker trans-seasonal look with the comfort of Frankie4 footbed . x

  2. I love the Nadia but my feet much prefer sneakers. I love the Kourtney sneaker a stylish white sneaker with a cute zebra print to the back. I’m loving the sneaker trend and have embraced it the last few years especially if there is a lot of walking or standing involved.

  3. I’d love to win a pair of Nats, read so many great reviews on them, and they look so comfortable. Would love to wear them with ankle length jeans, and a pretty knee length summer dress. Please take pity on my poor feet, and help me spoil them, and treat them to some luxury

  4. I absolutely love the Jackie style. I wore out my last pair on my big 25th wedding anniversary trip to Europe in 2019. I wore them with everything and they looked fabulous. I am currently in lockdown in Melbourne and don’t think I will ever get my feet back into a heeled shoe – another pair of Jackie’s is just what I need. But let’s face it – all the styles are fab.

  5. This is a new look for me but oh, so comfy. I’m being brave and embracing it! My silver Ellies are my fave so far, though I think I need a white pair of sneakers too.
