(Editor’s note: Would you believe I’ve been sharing Model and Me blog posts for more than nine years? Thanks to all the independent designers who I love and collaborate with each season. It’s always been part of the Styling You ethos to support my slow fashion sisters and I love sharing with you the creative genius these designers bring each season. Maybe you’ve been inspired to buy something I’ve featured or simply to re-think the idea that only a certain size can wear certain styles? Thank you for stopping by and reading. I’ll be back in 2020 with more.)

I don’t know about your wardrobe but mine has turned VERY summer. We talked “throw and go” style in this post and here I’m talking how I find myself reaching for colour much like a moth is powerless in its attraction to light. I simply cannot help myself. I’m reaching for fun and festive and I’m not mad about it.

So, it seems fitting to round out this year’s Model and Me offerings with something fresh and fabulous from the Boom Shankar spring-summer 2019 collection. I’ve been writing and sharing the brilliance that is Boom Shankar since my days as a journalist. Designer Dui Cameron continues to deliver the goods year after year. Dui was talking ethics and sustainability in fashion long before it became a must-talk-about thing.

I’ve never met a stripe I’ve not loved and this rainbow stripe has me all gaga. I’m in size 14 but could probably have gone a 16 for a looser feel around my bust. I’m a 16D, so I’d say this is true to size in the bust part of the dress – buy according to your bust size.

The sleeveless style has a flattering neckline, which you can choose to wear open like I have – or tie to close. It drops from the bust in a tiered skirt with a cute fringe detail at the hemline. How fun are the cobalt tassel ties? There are pockets and it’s lined. What more could you ask for?

I’ve worn it here with more colour in the tangerine slides from FRANKiE4 for casual but I’d also wear this with tan or sand-coloured wedges to dress up the look for a lunch out.
