The Model and Me: Read and Bell autumn-winter 2019

I have a thing for “nice tops” … but you knew that already, didn’t you? Nice tops immediately make any jeans outfit look a little bit special, whether it’s for casual or for an evening outing.

Nice tops enable you to bring out your colourful or playful side. They give you the opportunity to express a little of your style personality. 

A cotton nice top like the one below from the Read and Bell autumn-winter 2019 collection is a top that will work all year round, turning heads with its colour, shape and detailing.

This is not the first time I’ve fallen for authentic hand made Indian textile pieces from Read and Bell. Designers Tory Read and Anne Bell travel to northern India to work with traditional artisans on each of their pieces. 

The cotton fabrication is always so soft on the skin and the detail in the prints and finishes sets it apart from other mass-produced options.

I love the hand-printed floral print on this top. The colour is a delicious pink/berry blend and will suit most skin tones. The length is perfect for me but may fall a little short for those with longer torsos.

Just add jeans; a wrap and jacket and you’re good to go. In the warmer months, I’d wear this with denim shorts.
