When we think of all things Scandi, we often think of furniture (thank you IKEA) but Scandi style very much extends to fashion.
With Scandi fashion, the silhouettes are uncomplicated and ageless but pieces are brought to life with print and colour. It’s a perfect combination for an Australian summer and that’s what birdsnest has created with its newest exclusive brand – Scandi bird.
Scandi bird features prints designed in Sweden and shapes designed in Australia on clothing pieces crafted with soft, light fabrics. The quality is stunning and the size range is 8-18. Most of the pieces are relaxed in shape. There are lots of options that include a sleeve – great if you’re looking for sun protection or want arm coverage and don’t want to sweat it out all summer long.
I first featured the label with this dress (which has now been re-stocked). I’m showcasing the latest from the label below. In many of the pieces I’m wearing size 10 samples, so they look slightly more fitted than what they’d look in my regular size 14. Adjust your sizing to suit how relaxed you’d like the garment to be and whether you’re accommodating a larger bust.
If you’re a woman who loves to go a little peacock throughout summer, then you’re going to love Scandi bird.
Read on for details on how you could win a Scandi bird piece of your own.
If you love your t-shirts with a longer sleeve, this style is for you. It’s a flattering, relaxed shape and this royal blue/aqua colour combination is everything.
Kul sleeveless top (comes with scarf, I’m in size 14) $99.95 | bird Keepers Weekender jean
Take your love of all things dotty to the next level with this oversized spot print. This shape works well on its own for a casual look but add a lightweight blazer and you can take it to the office.
Leende top (berries, I’m in size 10) $119.95 | bird Keepers skirt (I’m in size 14)
Leende top (abstract, I’m in size 10) $119.95
If you prefer a top to a tee in summer, then this is the style for you. Keep in mind I’m in a 10 here, so the bust is tighter and it’s shorter than if I were in a 12 or 14. It still flows beautifully, creating shape from the bust. The two prints available are pictured above – both are so fun and fresh, you’ll probably “need” one of each!
Manstrale midi dress (petals, I’m in size 14) $129.95
Manstrale midi dress (petals, I’m in size 10) $129.95
I love the easy flow of this midi dress. It’s a style that skims the body without volume but a style that will keep you cool. Dress it up with heels as I have done; or down with flats or slides. You can see the difference of me wearing the two different sizes above. I need the 14 for a better fit and flow from the bust.
Mysa wrap dress (green bird, I’m in size 12) $119.95
Mysa wrap dress (red bird, I’m in size 12) $119.95
Wrap-dress fans, listen up. This is your cool, comfortable summer saviour style. The fabric is just so gorgeous and light on but you still get that waist definition that you love from wearing this style. It’s a dress that is equally at home for a casual outing as it is for dressing up for lunch with the girls.
Tystnad blouse (I’m in size 10) $99.95 | bird Keepers chambray shorts
This is another blouse shape that should be on your radar when looking for alternatives to tees. You’ll love the fit and flow from the bust and the blue and yellow print combination is so fresh.
Vacker dress (coming soon, wallpaper, I’m in size 10) $129.95
Shift dress lovers, this style is for you. I’m in a smaller size than normal here. I think the size 12 would be a happy medium for me, to give me more room across the bust but without adding too much volume. There’s a slight, flattering a-line finish to the skirt and it sits just below the knee.

shapely, sophisticated and stylish.
Flowing light airey fabric is number one for Queenslanders.
Ooh that Scandi bird Foralskad tee! The colours and print are gorgeous but it’s also the longer sleeves that I love. As a Brissie ‘peacock’, I prefer to keep my arms protected and longer sleeves in t-shirts can be hard to come by!
