Editor’s note: I was a guest of Kailo Wellness Medispa and the Styling You team will be experiencing the spa as guests next month as part of our end-of-year celebrations.
My love of a spa visit runs deep. VERY deep. If you’re a regular around here, this will not be news to you.
I’ve no problem donning a robe and giving myself and my body over to skilled therapists who know how to reduce me to a snoring, drooling, jelly-like version of my otherwise put-together self.
When I’m travelling, I’ll always look out for a spa option near where we are staying; when I’m at home, I make regular self-care spa dates and I stick to them.
Yes, I am a self-appointed spa-aficionado. Now while this expertise status may not count for anything on my LinkedIn profile, it counts for something here, my dear Stylers.
Because when I find a new spa situation that I feel you, my fellow spa devotees, should know about, I want to share it with you.
And find I have. From the moment I stepped into the new KAILO Wellness Medispa in the new Calile Hotel on Fortitude Valley’s James Street, it felt like coming home. Well, the home of my Pinterest board dreams.
(I’m wearing a gorgeous loaned kaftan and earrings from Samantha Ogilvie Boutique; shoes are FRANKiE4 Footwear)
It could have been the muted tones, the high ceilings, curved arches, the soft dreamy curtains, the herbal tea welcome tray, the use of an iPad to fill in your details or the very Zen-like faces welcoming me from behind the reception desk.
Truth is. It was ALL of those things and more. Yes, the decor and feel are super important in creating an inviting spa space, but it was discovering why KAILO is different from other spas that warrants its next-level spa status.
For starters, you may book in to KAILO for a facial that is personally delivered to suit your skin’s needs right now; but you might return for massage with a holistic healer; a vitamin infusion; or anti-ageing injectables.
The team of well-known skin therapists is supported by paramedical skin and laser specialists, a cosmetic physician, an integrative health doctor, a makeup artist, a wellness coach and remedial massage therapists. (Click HERE for a full list of treatments offered)
Having access to all these health and beauty treatment and programs under one (very beautiful) roof is incredibly appealing.
I’ve got to an age where I want results from my skin treatments. I want to feel the best I can feel when hormonally it’s a constant challenge (hello Hashimotos and peri-menopause rolled into one). And I want to feel like I’m getting those needs met by qualified practitioners who understand that my 51-year-old physical and emotional needs are very different from those of my 21-year-old daughter.
KAILO ticks all those boxes for me. If they’re the spa boxes you want ticked as well, then treat yourself when next in Brisbane. Local? Book in STAT. You just might have found your spiritual spa home.
