My love of the kimono runs deep but it’s during the summer months that this clothing piece really comes into its own.
Layering is a cinch in the cooler months – it’s what makes a winter outfit. In summer, a kimono is your ticket to layering and not sweltering. Pop it on over a tank, tee or cami and your basics outfit has gone up about a gazillion notches.
The iland co. spring-summer 2018 collection has a kimono for everyone – best of all each print comes in a length to suit your height and personal preference.
The model
iland co. blue leopard print silk blend kimono (maxi length)
and me
iland co. kimono (maxi length) | Sussan tank (not current) | Solito shorts (L) | FRANKiE4 Footwear ALYCE wedges in navy | Adorne bag (not current)
iland co. kimono (mid length)
iland co. kimono (short length)
It’s no surprise that I chose a leopard print to feature, is it? I must say this blue print is a fresh take on a neutral animal print. I like it. Working it back with white makes the blue pop even more.
The fabric is a breathable silk-poly blend that feels incredible on. You can wear it open or closed using the invisible press studs.
Personally, I love wearing the maxi length kaftan. I love the contrast and play on proportions that wearing a maxi over a shorts or skirt outfit brings.
Are you a kimono wearer? What’s your length preference?
