SunSoaked is well known now as an independent swimwear label offering sun-safe styles for women of all shapes and sizes – Nicole Kidman has even been spotted in SunSoaked.
In the past couple of seasons, designer Kate Davis Steer has also introduced a resort clothing range to complement her swimwear.
And it’s two pieces from the SunSoaked resort spring-summer 2018 collection that I’m featuring in this post.
See, when I think of spring-summer dressing, I almost always think of popping on a summer frock – or a pair of shorts.
The thing is, there is a very strong case for having lightweight pants in natural fibres in your wardrobe for days when you want an alternative or are looking for something for days when it’s not scorching hot and humid.

I seriously cannot get enough of a fun, tropical, landscape print and this one is next level. This fabric is a linen/cotton mix that just washes so well, softening and becoming a wardrobe favourite with every wear.
The waist and ankles are elasticated and the shape is a flattering drape over the tummy and hips. There are pockets up the front and back and the waist is finished with a tassel tie.
These are the kind of pants that you’d pack for a tropical or beach holiday, knowing you could dress them down and wear with slides or sandals as I have here or dress up with a heel and swap out the tee for a shirt or cami.
This 100% cotton tee is all kinds of wonderful in its shape, with tiered layers and a high-low hem. With its v-neck and cap-sleeve this is a summer wardrobe staple.
So, tell me, do you love a fun printed pant for a spring-summer? Can’t get enough of a tropical print?

The Ultimate Capsule Wardrobe spring-summer 2018
I’ve been creating and featuring more capsule wardrobes on the blog for many years and you’ve lapped them up. I understand why they work because they give us a starting point – a road map if you like – to navigate and create a wardrobe that works.
In a nutshell, a capsule wardrobe is all about filling your wardrobe with MORE pieces that mix and match with each other. It’s about having MORE pieces that are versatile – that can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.
It’s not about having a full-to-overflowing wardrobe, it’s about consciously and mindfully filling your wardrobe with pieces that work with each other. Get this idea of less is more and you’ll always have something to wear.
Mindfully creating a seasonal wardrobe is something we talk a lot about in my Ultimate Capsule Wardrobe online style program. The next round is launching for the spring-summer season this Wednesday – on October 10.
Click HERE for details on how you could win one of three spots in this season’s program.

#shopitforward for drought-affected areas
Thank you to each and every one of you who has shared this post that now contains more than 60 online businesses located in drought-affected areas of Australia. An even bigger thank-you if you’ve shopped at any of the businesses.
I’d love you to keep this list of businesses front of mind should you be doing any gift shopping over the months leading up to Christmas. The dollars go direct into affected communities, creating a ripple effect that will have lasting benefits for so many.
I won’t stop talking about and sharing these amazing businesses. We really are helping to make a difference.

Hi Nikki-I am seriously tempted by the shorts and pants… Just wondering if the shorts are true to size? If you are mid size would you suggest going up or down? Thanks!

True to size but if mid size go up x
Hi Nicky, Just wondering what size pants you are wearing in this range? I love them, but they look like a loose fit and I wasn’t sure whether to size down or not. Thanks.
