I’m excited to introduce you a new independent label to the Model and Me series. Drum roll please … and give a big welcome to Frankie + Dash.

This is only the second year for the Brisbane-based label. Designer Yasmyn Paul made a huge splash with her first collection in 2017 and I think you’re going to love the Frankie + Dash spring-summer 2018 collection.

Yasmyn studied fashion design at uni and initially worked for a fashion wholesaler, with a focus on fast fashion. Creating her own label gave her the freedom and opportunity to focus on combining style with natural fabrics and ethical manufacturing.

What you’ll find at Frankie + Dash are fun, feminine pieces in block colours and fabulous prints that are ageless in appeal and timeless in wardrobe longevity.

For this post, I’ve chosen a piece in one of the stand-out prints of the season, the candy or rainbow stripe.

Frankie + Dash rainbow mini kaftan (I’m in S – this particular style is generous in the body so I sized down two sizes) | FRANKiE4 Footwear LiSA heels in tan

It’s impossible not to be in a good mood when you pop on this frock. The statement stripe screams summer parties. And you’ll keep your cool … the viscose-linen mix is perfect when the heat is on.

You can wear the sleeves on the shoulder but you know me, right? Always with the off-the-shoulder. HAH. Extra ventilation, I say.

There are no belt ties, which is perfect. You can wear the tie where it best suits you. I’ve got a short waist so have gone for a higher waist here but I’m also partial to a hip tie – or belt (I bought these from the BabyMac shop last week and they’re perfect for adding shape and interest to dresses like this)

Now, if this particular style is not you, the rainbow print is also available in a maxi kaftan, a tiered mini dress, shorts and two top styles. Check them all out HERE. While you’re looking around the site, make sure you check out the other colours and prints in this collection. There are spots and, move over lemons and pineapples – oranges and strawberries are so 2018.

So, tell me, are you ready to pop some colour this summer?
