The Model and Me: Mist spring-summer 2018

Before my first trip to Bali in 2013, I was given the hot tip to check the Mist boutiques in Seminyak. And I was not disappointed.

What I found were beautiful summer frocks in hand printed designs on the softest rayon, cotton and linen. In every trip since, I’ve made a point of heading in store.

On my latest trip, not only did I visit one of the boutiques (opposite Motel Mexicola in Seminyak) but the wonderful team organised a special delivery to our villa of a few sneak peek pieces from the Mist spring-summer 2018 collection.

I wore one of those pieces on our final night – the white linen stunner now available HERE.

I’ve been hanging out to wear the dress featured in this week’s Model and Me post. With the season’s collection now available online in Australia, it’s time to share.

It was love at first sight when I saw this print. I love the contrast and depth of the navy with the pastel palette. It’s a combo that will work with most skin tones.

The soft 100% rayon fabric is beautifully light and perfect for surviving a long, hot, humid summer.

The tie v-neck, half-sleeves and empire waist drape and detailing all work to create a relaxed, flattering silhouette, the perfect dress-up/dress down spring-summer frock.

I’ve worn it simply, back with my fave navy FRANKiE4 wedges. I always pack ALYCE when travelling on a summer/resort holiday as they give a little height for a dressed up outfit in a shoe you can walk for kilometres in.

So, tell me, do you love an easy, summer frock? Ever visited the Mist stores in Bali?

#shopitforward for drought-affected areas

A couple of weeks ago, I did a radio interview on ABC Brisbane about the #shopitforward campaign. Things got a little emotional on hearing first hand from Julie Brown, the owner of Coola Cozzies, about just how much this campaign can help our rural sisters in need.

You can listen to the full segment below.

Thank you to each and every one of you who has shared this post that now contains more than 60 online businesses located in drought-affected areas of Australia. An even bigger thank-you if you’ve shopped at any of the businesses.

I’d love you to keep this list of businesses front of mind should you be doing any gift shopping over the months leading up to Christmas. The dollars go direct into affected communities, creating a ripple effect that will have lasting benefits for so many.

I won’t stop talking about and sharing these amazing businesses. We really are helping to make a difference.

Check out the list HERE.
