The Model and Me: Zarc spring-summer 2018

I don’t mean to be boasty but Brisbane turned it on again this weekend with some very spring-like winter days. We may have started in the single digits but by mid-morning, it was positively balmy.

I know not to be lulled into a sense of false security – spring may officially be three weeks aways but we do usually get a last blast of cold south-westerly winds during EKKA.

In anticipation of warmer months ahead, this week’s model and me post features a frock that slots right into my spring-summer wardrobe.

It’s from new Brisbane label, Zarc, a label created by two young mums – Liv and Vanessa – who wanted to wear items they felt fabulous in, no matter what their size. Zarc caters for women sizes 8-24. And I’m loving the look of the entire Zarc spring-summer 2018 collection.

Life is a journey, and feeling good about the body you were given is half the battle. Being positive, being motivated to be the very best version of yourself, and feeling confident doing it.

When you look at the model images on the Zarc website, they feature Liv and Vanessa. This is Vanessa below.

Say what? Bec? So, I was chatting last week to Bec from @ilovethatskirt and she mentioned that she had the very same Zarc dress I was featuring in this post, which got me to thinking … let’s show how it looks on three different sizes. YAAS.

Both Vanessa and Bec have rocked this frock back with boots. Simply add a denim jacket for a trans-seasonal look. Me? I’m wishing I’d had this dress in Bali last month, so I popped it with some bright earrings and neutral shoes and bag.

I do love a white dress and this cotton one ticks all the boxes. It’s lined – so no “I can see your undies” moments. It’s got an adjustable waist for shape. See how Bec has cinched hers? Vanessa and I have tied ours a little but more to provide a hint of shape than a full tie.

The neckline is a flattering V. The bell sleeves and scalloped hemline take the design up a level. And I’ve never met a broderie anglaise situation that I haven’t loved.

So, tell me, are you dreaming of warmer times ahead? Love a white frock? Love supporting a lady start-up business? Me too!
