The Model and Me: White Label Noba autumn-winter 2018

I get my fair share of event invitations … and then some. I don’t say yes to the majority of them but there’s two events I clear the calendar for each year – the White Label Noba season launches.

The show and surprise factor is always 11/10 – from the location, to the theme, entertainment and the set design, everything is “extra”, as the young kids say. Oh, and the runway is always styled to perfection, giving us a preview of the season ahead.

Last week’s White Label Noba autumn-winter 2018 season launch ticked off all those next-level boxes. Everyone was front row on the verandah of the Old Brisbane Museum (I hadn’t seen inside the museum since I was about 12-years-old and fascinated by the fossil display. I know. NERD.) and the collection was nothing short of AMAZING.

You can catch up with the live video HERE. In a nutshell, you’ll find designer Tracey Watkins’ signatures of sequins, bold patterns and flattering shapes worked back with a palette of black and white, emerald green and fuchsia pink.

You can check out what I wore to the launch over on my Instagram page – hint – sequins were heavily involved in that selection!

Below is another of the many stand-outs that caught my eye. Because LEOPARD PRINT. The autumn-winter collection is available in the three White Label Noba stores (Hawthorne and Hamilton – Brisbane; Main Beach, Gold Coast). And available online.

If you’re in the market for an occasion or event outfit with a difference, White Label Noba is very much worth checking out.

Ok, it’s very common knowledge that I’ve never met an animal print I didn’t love … and that I consider it a neutral in my wardrobe – HAH. So, it’s no surprise that this frock caught my eye the moment I stepped into White Label Noba for a preview of its autumn-winter 2018 collection.

This particular animal print is perfect with its lighter background and soft, georgette fabric. It feels so floaty and feminine but with an edge that comes from wearing a print like this.

The lace detailing on the sleeve and hem add a special something, as does the shirred elastic waist, which allows you to place the waist wherever suits. I’ve sized up to a 3 for more drape and blousing when wearing the shirred waist on my hips.

The garment is completely sheer, so adding a slip underneath is mandatory. I’m wearing one of the new-season model cami/slips from White Label Noba. These are so comfortable and perfect for the job. This one also has a lace bodice for an extra effect under your outer garment.

I’ve worked the dress back here with strappy heels, styling I’d do for a girls’ lunch or wedding. As a way to add a touch contrast to the floaty, feminine drape of the dress – and for a different look – I’d swap the heels for heeled boots and add a biker style jacket.

So tell me, are we in love with this animal print? A White Label Noba fan?
