I love a jeans outfit in winter. I know I’m not alone. If I didn’t purposefully switch things up, I could manage to wear jeans every day of the week.
They’re comfortable, they offer the perfect base for tops, knits, shirts and jackets. I can wear them back with sneakers or boots. In short, I could not get through a winter without a great pair of jeans – or six!
BUT.
If I find myself wearing jeans EVERY day, it does feel like a bit of a rut. The most simple solution I’ve found is switching out jeans for a pair of leggings or jeggings.
The comfort factor remains high – in some cases, it can be higher than wearing jeans. And when a jegging is in a leather or leatherette like the jeggings I’ve featured below, they can look more dressed up than a jean.
These jeggings are from Belle bird, a label from birdsnest that celebrates curves, offering flattering garments in size 10-22.

As with most leggings/jeggings and super stretchy skinny jeans, I’ve sized down for a fit that works better for my shape.
The waist falls high on these pants, which is awesome for support and for creating a great line under tops and tunics. The faux leather is perforated. It’s not so easy to see this in the photo but it’s a great design feature. You will need to wear a longer line top though as it’s perforated to the waist.
I’ve chosen one of Belle bird’s best-selling top styles in a quality, lightweight jersey. This top performs all kind of figure-flattering sorcery. It looks like you’re wearing two tops but it’s one piece. The bottom layer is fitted and falls longer than the asymmetrical top layer.
Adding THE boot of the autumn-winter season, the NAOMi, is all that’s needed to finish this smart-casual autumn-winter look. As it cools down, add a jacket and scarf.

Your autumn-winter wardrobe solution is here
Stylers, there is less than a week to register and join us for the autumn-winter 2018 Ultimate Capsule Wardrobe online style program.
Get set to be well and truly sorted for the fashion season ahead.
My Ultimate Capsule Wardrobe program gives you a clear road map for planning your outfits for autumn-winter but, don’t worry, it’s not about imposing a tonne of so-called style rules. I’m not about that. Rules don’t allow for personality and individuality in style. What I do offer are guidelines and bucket loads of support – from me, my team and the wonderful members of our program – so that you can feel free to develop your own style with confidence.
The guidelines I offer include a 30-piece capsule wardrobe and there is absolutely no need to go out and buy any new clothes to be a part of this. Many find that they can build their capsule based on clothes they have in their wardrobe, clothes that have been forgotten. If you are shopping to fill gaps, I help you do that mindfully.
We call ourselves Capsulers. It’s a funny term, but one that’s stuck. Trust me, you’ll join for the wardrobe help but you’ll stay for the magic that happens between the women in this amazing group. There is not a better bunch of ladies anywhere on the Internet*.

*OK, you got me. There are other awesome places but this one is super special. You will feel safe and valued and supported. I can guarantee that.

Hi Nikki, I will definitely head over to Birdnest to check out the jeggings…both you and the model look comfortable and stylish. Just one comment though…some of us are not on Facebook and this makes it difficult to enter competitions. Cheers
