I know this doesn’t apply to everywhere in Australia right now but here in Queensland the heat really is on.
I think twice about what I’m going to wear, particularly if it means I’ll be outside and outside of the air-con.
Like many, I love a natural fabric – cottons and linens that feel cool and comfortable on the skin.
Birdsnest knows this too and that’s why they created label, Natural for birds. The Natural for birds spring-summer 2017 collection includes shift dress, tunics, pants and frocks.
I’m featuring one of those frocks, shown below on two of the models. Fun fact: the gorgeous model on the left is birdsnest’s mindfulness teacher, Charlotte Thaarup-Owen.

Natural for birds dress (I’m in size 14) | FRANKiE4 Footwear ALYCE wedges (out of stock in tan but navy would work with this dress)
This 100% linen dress is one that will keep you cool and comfortable all summer long. It’s soft on the skin and skims the body. There isn’t any stretch, the fit is straight through with a slight a-line. It’s true to size.
I love that even if you choose not to wear the tie, it’s a loose and lovely style without any extra volume. Add the tie and it immediately dresses the look up.
For a casual look, I’d switch out the wedges for slides. Summer dressing doesn’t get any easier.
So, tell me, do you love dress-up/dress-down summer frock in natural fibres?

Join Share The Dignity’s It’s In The Bag campaign
In a nutshell, the It’s In The Bag campaign is about filling a handbag with pads, tampons and personal hygiene products so that this bag can be passed on to a woman or girl experiencing poverty and/or having fled violent situations this Christmas.
Look in your wardrobe. There may be a bag there that is in great condition but one you don’t use any more. If you don’t have a spare bag, consider buying a Handbag with Heart bag from Share The Dignity.
Then when you do your weekly grocery shop, add one or two items each week to fill your bag.
This year you can also buy a Handbag With Heart bag protector to store all the products in. This not only keeps all the products from spilling out of the bag but also gives the recipient an extra bag as a gift.
Bags can be left at collection points from November 18-December 2. This year’s collection points will be announced HERE on November 18.
