The Model and Me: frockk spring-summer 2017 at Bell and Ford

Summer can test our wardrobes and our ability to look and feel dressed up. It’s difficult to feel stylish when you’re sweating from every corner of your body.

Short of staying inside in air-conditioning or popping on a swimsuit and immersing yourself in a pool all day, the only way to stay cool in style is through loose and lovely clothes – from either breathable, technical fabrics and natural linen/cotton mixes.

One label that does the latter very well is frockk. It’s a label I got to know via its home base in Bali and then by visiting its flagship Australian store, Bell and Ford, in Byron Bay and Bangalow. If you’re ever in the area, you must visit. They are such beautiful boutiques filled with effortless clothing and lifestyle pieces.

In this post, I’m featuring two pieces that work SO well together but equally as separates to other pieces in my wardrobe. And you don’t have to travel to Byron to source them, the frockk range is all online.

You know I love a white pant – or white anything – don’t you? There is something so fresh about wearing white – particularly in summer. These white linen pants have great shape on the waist, thanks to the panel which drops from the waistband. This helps to give the illusion that this area is flat because the pant then falls from a lower point on the waist – not straight over the tummy.

The front pockets add interest, as do the ankle ties. You can adjust the ties to have the pants tied looser or tighter depending on your preference. A little tapering does create a great leg line.

The sizing in the pants is true to size. Linen will always give a little with wear as well. Other colours available include charcoal and natural.

This top style is one that I already have from previous seasons. It’s a free-size situation, so you need to be at one with loose and lovely to embrace it. A simple half-tuck creates shape. The longer hem at the back creates movement in the shirt. You can also wear this piece open as a jacket over a cami. Other colours available include French blue, deep blue, French blue/white stripe.

I’ve kept things “weekend casual” by working these pieces back with the new FRANKiE4 Footwear HiLARY slides in rose gold. I’ve been hanging out for a little rose gold action in my FRANKiE4 collection. It’s a metallic that works so well with my skin tone. You may be more a gold, Champagne or silver kind of girl. Whatever your metallic, you’re now covered! Comfort-wise, the built-in cork functional footbed has a soft latex top layer and EVA sole – your feet will feel like they’re floating.

My earrings are also rose gold from another Australian jewellery brand that I’ve fallen hard for – check out Murkani for yourself and you’ll understand why.

So, tell me, do you love a slouch linen pant and top situation for summer? Have a frockk piece or two in your wardrobe?

Join Share The Dignity It's In The Bag Christmas campaignIn a nutshell, the It’s In The Bag campaign is about filling a handbag with pads, tampons and personal hygiene products so that this bag can be passed on to a woman or girl experiencing poverty and/or having fled violent situations this Christmas.

Look in your wardrobe. There may be a bag there that is in great condition but one you don’t use any more. If you don’t have a spare bag, consider buying a Handbag with Heart bag from Share The Dignity.

Then when you do your weekly grocery shop, add one or two items each week to fill your bag.

This year you can also buy a Handbag With Heart bag protector to store all the products in. This not only keeps all the products from spilling out of the bag but also gives the recipient an extra bag as a gift.

Bags can be left at collection points from November 18-December 2. This year’s collection points will be announced HERE on November 18.
