The Model and Me: wYse autumn-winter 2017

Dear Stylers, the Festival of 50 is very much in full swing.

I had the most fabulous time with close friends and family on Saturday. We started at lunch time and climbed into bed at the Brisbane Marriott Hotel about 11pm.

Not a bad effort for an old duck.

Last night, I dusted myself off and headed out to see one of my favourite people – Julia Morris. Talk about seriously testing my pelvic floor. So bloody funny.

Tomorrow is the actual BIRTHday. I’ve given myself the day off to head to my fave Brisbane day spa with a fellow ’67 girlfriend. I tell you, if you plan your own celebration, there is no possibility of disappointment. None.

Anyway, on to this post … this week I’m featuring another Brisbane-based label, of which I’ve been a long-time fan.

wYse is an ethically accredited, Australian-made lifestyle label designed by Liz Parsons. The modal fabric used in all wYse designs is biodegradable and environmentally sustainable.

Pretty impressive, yes?

The below dress is from the wYse autumn-winter 2017 collection available online in store and at selected boutiques around Australia.

If you’ve not felt the modal used in wYse clothing, do yourself a favour. It’s incredibly soft and delicious on your skin. It’s a no-iron fabric. Any creases disappear from body heat as you wear it. I put my pieces in a lingerie bag and throw them in the washing machine.

I’ve got pieces from wYse dating back 10 years – they don’t pill, lose their shape or fade in colour. Very good buying indeed.

As for the shape of this dress, it’s a real winner. It fits and skims in all the right places and the front tie helps to hide a few lumps and bumps – all the while adding interest. I’m wearing regular seamless underwear. Shapewear wasn’t needed at all. The three-quarter length sleeve and v-neck is supremely flattering too.

You could add tights or leggings, boots and a coat to this look for a colder weather look. It’s a dress that’s suitable for the office as well as for an occasion out.

I’ve gone for statement earrings and shoe but you could add a choker or statement necklace instead to make this blank canvas pop.

So tell me, would I find wYse pieces in your wardrobe? Love a dress that looks dressed up but is super comfortable to wear?
