The items in your wardrobe that are classified as “trans-seasonal” pieces are the ones that get the most rotation throughout the year.
{Unless, of course, you live in tropical climes where there is little difference between the seasons.}
Tran-seasonal means “between seasons” and now is technically that time.
Again, this depends on where you live, but even here in south-east Queensland there has been a slight shift and a slightly cooler air in the morning.
Yes, we’re still sweltering by 9am but the shift is there all the same. I love it when the edge is shaved off summer. It brings with it hope that I’ll soon be able to layer up and create outfits with interest.
New clothing brand and online store Punch Park understands trans-seasonal. Together with its sister labels, Beech & Bird, The Power of Grey and Blue Peony, it offers great perennial pieces designed in Australia by a team which has worked in the fashion industry for 30 years.
The pieces below are Beech & Bird, a label inspired by the beauty of the Australian landscape and incorporating luxe fabrics and stunning, feminine styling.
I love bringing you new, independent clothing brands to check out and hope this is one that catches your eye.
The model
Beech and Bird trench, top, scarf and jeans
Beech and Bird trench (I’m in size 16), top (I’m in size 16), scarf and jeans (I’m in size 14) | FRANKiE4 Footwear SALLi boots | Nicole Fendel earrings and cuff
The trench is such a classic piece and so versatile in a stone colour. This trench is one of the best I’ve seen in terms of the fabric quality and its design. If you find that a trench overwhelms you when on, tie the belt behind you at the back.
These jeans are SO comfortable, like tracksuit-pant comfortable. A dark indigo pair of denim jeans is a classic wardrobe stable that will never date.
The show-pony pieces in the outfit – the pieces that make it pop – are the silk scarf and top. The exclusive, nature-themed print and muted, pastel tones is just so stunning.
So tell me, are you keen for a taste of autumn? Love a trench? Comfy jeans? Beautiful prints?

The Ultimate Capsule Wardrobe online style program is back to give you a clear style road map for the season ahead (launching THIS Thursday, March 30).
I feature a lot of mini capsule wardrobes here on the blog throughout the year but my Ultimate Capsule Wardrobe online style program is designed to be an adaptable wardrobe blueprint for the entire season.
In a nutshell, the autumn-winter 2017, six-week online style program is based on a 30-piece capsule wardrobe that can be adapted for any lifestyle, budget, shape, size or age. I’ll show you how.
You are helped to “shop” your wardrobe for alternatives to my suggestions and I’ll have links to buy for those wanting to mindfully update their wardrobes with a solid plan.
I’m also hands-on in the dedicated Ultimate Capsule Wardrobe Facebook group supporting this program, taking you through each day’s outfit suggestions and being there to personally answer your specific style questions.
It’s like having your own personalist stylist on speed dial.
Thank you for creating the Ultimate Capsule Wardrobe. I liked how we were able to adapt the suggested pieces to suit what we may already have or find alternatives to suit budgets, lifestyles and tastes. I feel like I have a really great wardrobe for the season where I have so many combinations I can put together. I have loved the Facebook group as I felt really safe posting outfits and it was really lovely to receive such positive comments from those within the group and gain ideas from others. – Leanne
To be first in the know about the launch of the Ultimate Capsule Wardrobe online program, make sure you’re signed up to the Styling You email list and mark Thursday in your diaries now.

Beautiful outfit on you Nikki. I’m a huge fan of a good trench. Living on the Sunshine Coast it’s rare I get to wear a jacket, but when I travel a trench is indispensable. Comfy jeans are my go-to almost daily in the winter.
I know! A trench is great for winter nights in Queensland – and mornings – before peeling off the layers.
Hi Nikki! Love this look and the jeans look like the business. Grabbed the layering top you recommended the other day – it’s awesome. Love what you are doing with mindfulness and helping everyone shop from their own wardrobe too. love from Perth
Well done on that layering top Debra! How great is the shape?
Perfect shape. Wish I had taken your suggestion and bought it in every colour. Heading back in!
love the look thanks nikki!
woman on the job! big tick!
it is amazing how that outfit looks so different just with the mix of the pants and shoes!
generally I hate to see someone in the same clothes as me! can’t help that!
but even if both of you were in the same room it wouldn’t be that noticeable!
what a round about comment for you hun!
have a good day lovely!
a bit rough up north I see!
much love m:)X
I love your comment, M, would be a dull old world if we all dressed the same. Anyone could own this outfit and bring their own style to it.
I love those pastels on others but they’re not the most flattering on me. But I did spy a faux fur leopard coat in that range that has my name written all over it!
Got to love a bit of faux fur leopard!
Hi Nikki, comfortable gets my tick. Love the trench too. Grabbed a pair of Hokka OneOne yesterday, went for a walk in them they are so much better for my feet! Thank you x
Team Comfort! And awesome that the shoes were a success for you too!
