After black and white garments, it’s denim you’ll see taking up the lion share of my wardrobe real estate.
I love the colour of denim – in all its shades – and I love its wardrobe versatility.
When you find a pair of jeans that you just love wearing then your wardrobe immediately opens up a multitude of possibilities.
Last year when Bohemian Traders introduced its first denim collection, I fell hard for the label’s Distressed Skinny Jeans (see this post). Then it was the Cropped Distressed Skinny that stole my spring wardrobe heart. And I love the relaxed styling in the Boyfriend jeans (white and denim).
The Bohemian Traders denim 2017 collection has just launched and the denim offering now includes high-waisted, drop crotch, straight leg and cropped flared jeans options.
Apart from jeans, there’s a new skirt style, a white denim jacket and the shift dress I’m featuring in this post.

A shift dress is my ideal dress shape. It skims the hips and makes it all about the legs. It’s a comfortable shape to wear when you’re on the go all day.
So when I first slipped this baby over my head, it ticked all my shift dress boxes. The denim is light so I can wear now but not so light that I won’t think of layering this dress up with boots and a longline knit in winter.
The mid-to-light shade of denim is just right. And I love the detailing on the neck and sleeve as well as the frayed fringing on the hem.
I’ve chosen to let the simplicity of the denim shift make its own statement, simply working it back with tan heels for a nod to ’70s styling.
This dress would work equally as well with white or cream sneakers, flat sandals or ankle boots.
So tell me, how much denim would I find in your wardrobe? Are you a fan of the denim dress? Does a shift dress suit your shape?

Great Content and you look stunning. I love bohemian outfits. They’re sooo unique. Ive seen some beautiful apparel at bohosync.com. To be honest I love how you’ve styled it. But in my opinion it just needs more jewellery.
Love it on you Nikki but do you think it would work with some skinny jeans under, I love the Raquel ones from Blue Illusion… this would be for cooler weather! My legs are too podgy for short dresses.
I love shift dresses too. This one is lovely. Loving all the new denim from BT.
