I talked about the challenge that comes with dressing for the office in the height of summer in this post.

Getting out the door on time can be a challenge all year round but in summer you have you have the extra challenge of looking put together when conditions are on the distinctly sweaty side.

My hot tip for getting your summer office look sorted with a minimum of fuss is to embrace the frock. And if that frock is an easy-care, easy-wear, no-ironing required frock then all the better.

The Bird Keepers by Design (a Birdsnest label) faux wrap dress I’m featuring today very much fits that bill.

There is genius in the faux wrap over the wrap wrap. A true wrap dress can take a little wrangling and leave you open to gaping.

A faux wrap brings with it all the figure flattering and draping qualities that a wrap dress does but with the simplicity of being able to pop it on and go.

The tucks and layers on this dress allow the jersey to skim over the stomach area. The v-neckline is also flattering and doesn’t gape.

Add a lightweight blazer and some block heels, pumps or wedges and you have your office look sorted.

For me, a work-at-homer, this is the kind of dress I have on hand for networking events or meetings. I know I can pop it on and still feel comfortable but put together.

It’s also a dress you could dress up with some bling – metallic heels and statement earrings – for an easy switch to cocktail attire.

Do you love an easy-care, easy-wear dress? If you work in an office do you embrace the frock for summer?

  1. So nice Dress. Even i personally like clothes so much. I liked this dress a lot. and its in my favorite color too.

  2. Love this dress. It could be perfect for a big meeting I have coming up. What colour blazer/shoe combo would you recommend? I usually shy away from navy as most of my work shoes are black.

  3. Lovely dress! It would be very versatile, and such a pretty colour.
I have to dress up for work, and in the Brisbane summer, dresses are definitely the way to go. I think I wear a dress 9/10 days when it’s hot.

  4. Love this frock, and might I add I love the word ‘frock’ it always sounds feminine and kind of quaint. In a lovely way. You look beautiful and so does the model. I would definitely wear this! x

  5. I am allllllll about the frock in summer! I’ve found that Jockey Skimmers make them all the better & I don’t have to worry about my dress revealing more than I would want….You look amazing in that style & that colour!
