The Model and Me: Binny spring-summer 2016

It’s no secret around here about my love of the off-the-shoulder anything, so if you thought it was safe to click on through and find me not wearing another one, click away.

It’s also no secret that I have big, big love for Australian label Binny.

Binny first contacted me way back when her label was first featured on Offspring’s Nina Proudman and I’ve been a massive fan ever since.

Binny’s signature style is all about exclusive prints and details in clothing pieces that turn heads and get noticed.

And in terms of getting noticed, I’m thinking the Binny Spring-Summer 2016 Coming Home collection is the best to date.

I wore the Victory Hotel dress when the collection first launched early September and here I’m featuring a stunningly feminine OTS blouse that will be on high rotation in my wardrobe this season.

The model

Binny top | Bohemian Traders jeans | FRANKiE4 Footwear CHLOE sandals | A Beautiful Story wristwear

Binny Gingernuts blouse

and me

Binny top | Bohemian Traders jeans | FRANKiE4 Footwear CHLOE sandals | A Beautiful Story wristwear

Binny top* (I’m in size 16 but would fit a 14) | Bohemian Traders boyfriend jeans* (I’m in size 34) | FRANKiE4 Footwear CHLOE sandals | A Beautiful Story wrist wear

There is something so fabulously fresh and feminine about white broderie for spring and summer and this OTS blouse has it all.

The patchwork on the Gingernut is different from the model’s, which was shot using the original sample. How you see my blouse, is what you get.

It is semi sheer but not so sheer that you would feel like you have to wear a slip … well I didn’t.

The length is awesome for versatility in how you might choose to wear the top on any given occasion. I’ve worn it untucked with jeans but you could equally wear it fully tucked into a skirt (as shown on the model) or half tucked into shorts.

The sleeve length is incredibly flattering and, like the elasticated shoulder on the Victory Dress, I find this elastic to be fabulous for just sitting where it needs to sit.

I’m in the size 16 in both this top and the Victory Dress but it is slightly generous, so a 14 would also fit.

So tell me, what’s your OTS count to date this season? Are you a Binny fan?

    enjoy! love m:)X

  2. I’m loving the OTS look on you Nikki and would adore slipping some OTS numbers into my own wardrobe. My problem though is that hoisting up my Double-Ds for 30-something years, has resulted in reasonable sized ‘grooves’ in my otherwise rather OK shoulders! How have you avoided this unsightly affliction? Any tips? P.S. LOVE your blog! X
