The Model and Me: Solito spring 2016

If you thought it was safe to come her and find me NOT wearing another off-the-shoulder number, I’m very sorry to disappoint.

It’s a fashion obsession I refuse to give up. I love it – despite the potential issues I raised in this post.

I love that wearing an OTS top or dress makes you feel a little more dressed up – even when the heat is on.

I love that you can pop the sleeves ON the shoulder as an alternative. And I love that if it is cool, you can add a denim jacket while those sleeves are ON.

The OTS I’m featuring today takes the form of a fabulous top from the new spring 2016 collection from Brisbane-based label, Solito.

I first spied it a couple of months ago in a special preview of the entire collection and immediately imagined a spring/summer of us hanging out together.

This cotton chambray top is perfect for warmer months. I love the longer length and ruffle hem and sleeve detail for interest but it’s the blue tie-dyed print that had me fallen at first sight.

This Castaway print is also available in a button-up shirt, shirt dress, boho dress and cropped jacket – so if off-the-shoulder is not for you and you love the print, then maybe another option is calling your name.

I’ve worn the top back with white Bohemian Traders boyfriend jeans but I’d feel equally at home wearing it with a light-wash denim jean, short or skirt.

Taking the blue story further are two wrist pieces from the A Beautiful Story jewellery range. Each piece is handmade and comes with beautiful meanings behind the stones featured.
