The Model and Me: Maiocchi Spring 2016

The Model and Me: Maiocchi

I frocked up last Tuesday night to celebrate the new collection from one of my favourite designers, Deanne Mayocchi, the talented woman behind the Australian-made label, Maiocchi.

The in-store event featured some of the fabulous women who blog and share their outfits on #everydaystyle, showing how they will wear their favourite pieces from the new “Head in the Clouds” collection.

There is so much to love about this new collection – amazing feminine and flattering designs; mind-blowing exclusive fabrics and a whimsical, retro theming that is signature Maiocchi.

In this Model and Me post, I’m featuring my favourite dress (and fabrication) from the new collection, as well as a clever cardi you’ll want to add to your trans-seasonal wardrobe.

The model

and me

Yes, this is a two-for-one frock scenario, thanks to its reversibility. The concealed press-stud buttons make it all possible.

I just love this shade of blue. Oh, who am I kidding? I love ALL shades of blue. This is extra stunning though.

The shape also works for me, with the waist sitting high, almost under the bust and the skirt a slight a-line style that skims my hips.

I’m wearing this with the v-neck to the front but you could wear it with the higher round neck front and centre as an alternative.

I just love the addition of the bamboo spandex cardi for a trans-seasonal cover-up but also as a way to offer a sun-safe alternative in summer.

A note on availability, sizing is showing as limited online. Do contact Maiocchi to see if any other sizes are available in store.

Do you love a feminine dress that doubles its wearability? A fan of the short sleeve cardi for spring?

  1. I adore the prints that Deanne creates for the label and I’ve always been a fan of her reversible skirts but a dress is something else!

  2. Love this dress, and of course the colour. So clever to make it reversible 🙂 Love the little cardi too. You look lovely x

  3. I love this dress on you Nikki and how very clever to have a reversible pattern! I like the cardi with the dress too,I actually still have a few short sleeve cardi’s from seasons past that I couldn’t throw away! lovely Model and Me post Xx

  4. Love this dress Nikki. And the added cardi for warmth. I definitely love a dress that allows for a short sleeve cardi. The cardi can be worn with other outfits too – over a singlet and jeans for a casual look. I love versatile pieces that can be dressed up or down. You all looked lovely on Tuesday night. x
