What do you get when you put 90 women in one room, serve them high tea and French Champagne and teach them a few life and style hacks?
FUN with all the capitals, that’s what.
The inaugural Style + Champagne event was everything that we’d hoped it would be.
Gillian, Carolyn (the awesome Champagne Cartel chicks) and I had a vision about nine months ago to bring together an event that gave women a little something different.
Don’t get us wrong, we’re a big fan of the long lunch, but we wanted to create a different event, one that bought women together over good food and Champagne but also left those attending with a few trips and tricks that would help with their personal style, confidence and mojo.
We also wanted to support our chosen charities, Dress for Sucess and Mummy’s Wish. Thanks to some incredibly generous businesses (you can check them all out on our event Facebook page), we were able to do just that … to the tune of $3000 from raffle ticket proceeds.
Thanks also to our event partners, Surafina and FRANKiE4 Footwear for adding to the experience of the day. Thanks to MooGoo and Ruby Olive for supplying gifts for our guests.
We purposely capped the numbers at 90 because we wanted the chance to mingle and talk with as many people as we possibly could. Darling & Co was a perfect venue for that.
In all honesty, we didn’t think it would sell out so quickly, so we’ll be evaluating how we manage that in the future.
And YES, there will be future events.
Brisbane is an obvious location for us as we all live here – and the location did not stop three ladies from making a weekend of it and flying in from Sydney for the weekend (*waves* to Barbara, Andrea and Jill).
To take this event further afield, we’re on the lookout for sponsors and will keep you posted if we can make that a reality.
REMEMBER, if you want to be first in the know when the next event goes on sale, sign up to this email list here (we promise, we’ll only use it for for future event purposes).
In the meantime, we thought you might like to see a few photos from the day.
I love how photographer Helen Henry (Rhubarb Photography) has captured the spirit of the afternoon in her images.
