The Model and Me: Sacha Drake

Nikki Parkinson The Model and Me 22 Comments

If you’re a regular around here you’ll very much be aware of my love for Brisbane-based fashion label, Sacha Drake.

I’ve been wearing Sacha for about 12 years now. Her designs are timeless. Her prints captivating. And lately it’s been her everyday style solutions that have had me excited.

Remember last year the column drape dress – in knee-length and maxi? And the Solange jumpsuit? Yep. They’ve all graduated to wardrobe favourites.

I’ve got my winter favourite frock in stock for the AW16 Styling You Shop (opening April 20) but in the mean time, I’m sharing my favourite pants and top outfit from the latest Sacha Drake collection.

Both are destined to stay in my wardrobe for many a fashion season to come.

Let’s talk first about the fabric. The polyester spandex is light, breathable and ideal for travel but also for looking uncrushed and put together all day and night.

Washing the pieces is super easy. I throw in a lingerie bag and put in the front loader. Voila!

Let’s talk about the dress-up, dress-down ability of both pieces. I’ve dressed it up for this post, with heels and employing the tie on the top, but I’d equally opt for sneakers, leaving the tie off but adding a scarf for a relaxed weekend look.

Regardless of whether you’re dressing up or down, you’ll feel incredibly comfortable. See above re fabric.

The drape and cut of both pieces are also winners, creating a flattering line from top to toe.

Best of all, all Sacha Drake garments are made in Australia with an emphasis on quality.

So tell me, do you love a garment that feels so comfortable to wear but dresses up to any level?

Share your outfit to WIN

Every month in 2016 I’m giving away a $100 gift card to help freshen up your wardrobe.

This month you could win a $100 gift card from Bohemian Traders.

Each month, I’ll propose a different wardrobe theme for you to consider incorporating into your #everydaystyle outfit planning.

Each day that you incorporate that theme, simply upload your photo as you would normally, using the #everydaystyle hashtag. To be in the running for the prize, you just need to add the specific hashtag for each month’s theme. You can enter as many times as you like.

This month’s theme is: how to add elements of autumn to your wardrobe when it’s still warm outside (this post might help with ideas). Think the addition of a new-season trend via colour, texture and style in one part of your outfit or accessories. At this time of year, it’s super tricky to do an autumn look head to toe so we’re looking for inspiration.

This month’s hashtag is: #SYAW16

Your outfit photo could be featured here on the blog with a link back to your Instagram page. Entries close March 31, 2016.

  1. What if I don’t (and don’t want to) have an Instagram account? Are there other options to get involved? I’d love to showcase some outfits and share inspiration with your other readers 🙂

    1. Hi Mel, some people do share via Facebook but if it’s a personal profile no-one else can see it. Instagram is the only platform where we can search the # and see anyone’s posts (if account set to public).
