In this final Model and Me segment for 2015, I thought I’d look back on the top 10 most popular Model and Me posts on the blog.
These are the posts that were viewed the most by you.
Five years ago when I first started these posts, the aim was to show that a garment you might have seen on a model could work on a shorter, non-size-6 woman.
It wasn’t to show that I looked better than the model. It was to show an alternative.
I believed then – and I believe now – that women are crying out for a visual alternative to what the fashion industry offers us.
I’m not saying my alternative is the only alternative. It is just that. An alternative.
I’m a real woman. But so is the model.
It doesn’t matter her size or shape. She is real.
ALL women are real.
Thanks for supporting this concept. I’ll return in 2016 with more.

I love your model and me posts Nikki and the alternative they show! I am much more like to buy an outfit modelled on a similar sized person to me than from an outfit on a much smaller sized model! Thanks for these posts! Looking forward to seeing more such posts in 2016!

I love all your model and me posts… and remember most of these through out the year. I’m not surprised Bohemian Traders got number 1 place. That dress is divine, although I can only wear it in Autumn and Winter layered with tights because it’s a bit short on me. I still love it though and always get compliments when wearing it. Thank you for doing these posts each week. Sometimes they inspire me to buy something, but most times you bring new brands to the table that I’ve never heard before and that’s what I love most about the Model and Me posts. x

Yes you are absolutely correct Nikki! We are crying out for a visual alternative. Quite often I have looked at pieces from Bohemian Traders and thought, no surely that won’t fit me- then I see it fabulously styled on you and I think- yes! I can wear that. Em from the Beetle Shack also has prompted me to order things once I have seen them on her. I am short and curvy and having that visual alternative gives me the confidence to purchase things because I see that they work on other shapes and heights. Wishing you a magical Christmas Nikki. Thank you Nikki,I love your Model and Me posts I actually bought the Mojo beach shorts which I haven’t worn yet… Oops! I also have the Bohemian Traders striped long sleeve dress and a cream Dreamer dress which I think will be my Christmas dress this year Xx

Thankyou for your posts, I have bought the dreamer dress in black and navy since seeing your posts about them otherwise I had never heard of that label before. I got them at a bargain too when Bohemian Traders had a sale a couple of years ago. They are gorgeous dresses and so easy to wear. Only downside is you have to wear a slip underneath as they show too much leg. Anyway have a great xmas and happy new year and I look forward to seeing your upcoming posts in 2016.

Probably my favourite posts are the Model and Me ones. Even if I don’t purchase the actual item, it introduces a label as I click through the rest of what’s on offer.
I am also a fan of the Bassike t-shirt dress and have a stripey one (of course!), in my wardrobe.
I saw you in a white dress with blue embroideries posted on FB (I think??) from Bohemian Traders. Anyway, called the girls at BT as I was unsure about my size. They were so helpful and the size they recommended fits perfectly!! Also love the dress looks good and very cool and comfortable. Thx for you blog looking forward to 2016 xx

Model and me are one of my favourite posts and what drew me to your blog so long ago. Mind you my hubby may not love it as it has caused me wardrobe to grow as I discovered a whole range of retailers.
