If you’re a fellow Australia child of the ’70s, you’d remember this ad:

K-k-Katies … you’ve got the clothes I adore … I’ll see you at your Katies store.

I KNOW. It’s in your head now too.

I remember my mum shopping at Katies in Brisbane, buying up pieces to wear to her job as a school teacher.

To me her 1970s outfits were as on trend as the chocolate-coloured divan in her lounge room and the orange wooden spoon that would get pulled out the kitchen drawer at the first sign of trouble between my brothers and I.

Fashion nostalgia like this is only possible with a store that has been part of the Australian fashion landscape for nearly 60 years.

Everyone has a Katies story.

And I’m incredibly excited to be a part of the 2015 Katies story.

I’ve had to keep it under wraps but I can now reveal that I’m going to feature in the new-season Katies catalogue out this week featuring designs from its spring-summer 2015 collection.

I’m one of three everyday women working online to be included. I’m the 40-something woman (just scraped in!).

Apart from working with such an iconic Australian brand – and getting all fancied up for a day on set shooting – what really has me excited about this campaign is that Katies just gets it.

They get that we, the over-30s fashion consumer, wants to be marketed to by people of our own age and by people of different shapes and sizes.

It is difficult enough to imagine a garment on ourselves, let alone if the only visual cue we have is of campaign images of a pre-pubescent model wearing the clothes.

In the stores that we shop in, we want to see images of women our own age wearing the garments we’re considering buying.

It just makes marketing sense. Well, it does to me.

I applaud this direction Katies has taken – they are leading the way in connecting with their existing customers as well as attracting new customers in store.

Because, Stylers, I’m here to tell you, if you haven’t been into a Katies store or browsed online of late, it’s time you changed that. TOOT SWEET.

You’ll find fashion-forward, on-trend pieces that are accessible and affordable in a size range of 8-20.

You’ll find good quality basics and wardrobe essentials. You’ll find looks for casual, tailored looks for work and pieces that will take you from day to night.

You’ll find accessories to complement all those looks.

And you’ll find good quality fabrics designed for fit and performance.

Let’s take a little look at how my Katies catalogue shoot went, shall we?

Katies High Split tunic $49.95

This citrus tunic (I’m wearing size 14) is a key shape and colour for spring-summer 2015. It’s a colour that I love for its freshness so I kept that fresh theme going with my own ripped white denim jeans, my most glam platforms and a Love K necklace. This is a look that I’d wear out to a spring lunch

with the girls. Check the Katies catalogue for a look at how it’s been styled differently by a woman in her 30s and 50s.

Katies Peasant top $59.95 (to come) | Rouch Leg Crop pant $49.95 (to come)| Mosaic Tile cotton scarf $24.95

This look is from Katies’ Mystic Dreams spring-summer 2015 story. It appeals to my inner bo-ho girl and is an ideal outfit for my everyday work-from-home wardrobe. It’s cool, comfortable and I’d just add the scarf to dress up the outfit if I needed to head out for an appointment. The shape of these pants (I’m wearing size 14) are supremely flattering and the white, cotton top (I’m wearing size 16) is a boho wardrobe staple.

Katies Off Shoulder maxi dress

Katies Off Shoulder maxi dress $69.95

Also from the Mystic Dreams story in this collection is this fabulous maxi dress (I’m wearing size 14). It’s one of my favourite pieces. Long may the maxi dress reign in the style stakes for summer. You can dress it up with heels as I’ve done here or pop on some flat sandals for a cool and casual take on weekend dressing. The elasticated waist can be adjusted to suit where it best sits on your. Wear it higher like I have done and blouse slightly or pull down lower if you’d like it to sit on a true waist.

Katies Texture Print kimono $59.95 | Slim Cotton Ultimate jean $49.95

You know how I love a kimono as a layering hero piece in spring-summer? They’re great for adding outfit interest but you have great breathability so you don’t sweat it the moment you leave the comfort of air conditioning. This fabulous kimono (I’m wearing size 10) is part of the Katies spring-summer Urban Tribe and Key West fashion story. Muted pastels are very strong this season and this exclusive palm print is striking. As for the pants? Most. Comfortable. Pants. Ever. And so, so flattering. (I’m wearing size 14)

Katies Extended Sleeve Lace Front top $49.95 | 7/8 pants $59.95 (to come)

The Artful Accents fashion story in the Katies spring-summer 2015 collection is one that will very much appeal to my fellow monochrome lovers. Tones of white, charcoal and black will always be in style – and they easily take you from day to night. I love the versatility of this outfit for its ability to do just that. These pants (I’m wearing size 14) are incredibly flattering too. The cut-out top (I’m wearing size 14) is on-trend for the season – subtly sexy and a little bit showy.

  12. Katies Texture Print kimono $59.95 | Slim Cotton Ultimate jean $49.95

  14. This fifty plus lady loves black and white,
on any occasion it makes me feel right!
I’d love the 7/8 pant and Lace front top,

  15. The texture print kimono with the Slim Cotton Ultimate Jean would hide a multitude of my sins. I would feel stylish and look fresh and relaxed.

  16. For a down to earth, relaxed, stylish look everyday I love the Katie’s peasant top, rouch leg crop pants you’re wearing and could take me anywhere at a moment’s notice. 19. The Katies Off Shoulder maxi dress captivates hearts with an inspirationally cultured enlightenment of beautiful free-flowing fascination, contemporary chic character and intrinsic aesthetic expressionism.

  20. The citrus tunic is very flattering with its short sleeves, scoop neck and style that lightly skims the body. The material hangs beautifully, the colour summery and the price is wonderful.

  21. Katies High Split tunic, bright and breezy, I’d pair it with floral pants in pastel colours for a casual day out with friends and skinny black leggings and heels for a night out with my man. And if I have too much to eat, it’s not a problem as the tunic will hide every imperfection! A perfect clothing item for the imperfect me!

  22. Katies Extended Sleeve Lace Front top
$49.95 & 7/8 pants $59.95. The white of the lace front
top gives an instant cool look for summer but at the same time, both items
together, have a classy look. The top also brings out the wearers eyes and skin
    tone.

  23. I haven’t worn a dress in over a decade but I’m working hard to overcome my insecurities. Katies Off Shoulder maxi dress looks like a good place to start, a floaty throwback to my teen years 🙂

  24. I LOVE the Texture print Kimono & Slim Cotton Jeans – As someone who works in a professional environment 5 days a week, I love having nice casual clothes to wear on the weekend, that don’t make me feel like I am about to go in to the office, but still make me look stylish, plus as a mum of two under 3 who has recently lost 18kgs, I can finally wear jeans again, but I love the idea of the layering as I am not 100% confident with my new improved body, and this will help me cover up the ‘trouble areas’ while I finish off the job

  25. The slim cotton ultimate jeans are perfect for summer. Love the pale hue that will team well with my summer pastels equally as well as my brights. Also love that they accentuate slim legs.

  26. The extended sleeve lace front top and 7/8 pants – stylish, tailored, business like for day, but can easily convert to evening wear for visit to opera or ballet!

  27. I love the Extended Sleeve Lace Front top and | 7/8 pants Classy but easy to wear. I’ll look fashionable not frumpy for evening and work. I’m going to check these out instore.

  28. Certainly the Mystic Dreams maxi dress. A teenager from the nineties, I am unfortunately born two decades too late then where i’d only dream of being in, but I adore the style. It’s modern, contemporary and practical in Summer, light fabric and absolutely stylish. It accentuates voluptuous sizes as well, and would comfort being lengthy in design.

  29. Love the Maxi dress (perfect for summer on the South Coast) & love that my fave fb stylist & my namesake fashion store are collaborating! Katie L. xx

  30. The maxi dress. The colours are beautiful and it’s light and summery without being skimpy. Plus, that pattern would hide baby spew well (oh yes, that’s a criteria for me now)

  31. I am LOVING the beautiful Kimono and Cotton Jeans. Very versatile for the upcoming months and can be mixed and matched with some other of Katies fabulous clothes. Love the styles that Katies is designing for us.

  32. My pick is the texture print kimono and jeans! I had a look I store- it’s beautiful fabric, the jeans are cool & comfy, plus I’m a new mummy so I feel the need to cover my new found floppy bits while I adjust to my new body, a kimono is great for discrete breastfeeding too.

  33. The white lace top and black pants – perfect for my upcoming school 30 year reunion. Here’s hoping I will be recognised (mistaken) for my 17 year old black and white self.

  34. My pick is the off shoulder maxi dress. I don’t wear many dresses but have found the maxi dress suits my figure and it covers all my lumps and bumps. Thanks Nikki and Katies, you have inspired me for the season ahead.

  35. Definitely the peasant top, rouched pants and scarf – gorgeous! You look sublime in every outfit, Nikki – awesome job to you and Katies. I haven’t been into one of their stores for years…

  36. Off the shoulder maxi dress-stepping out in style, escaping into a world of glamour, femininity , elegance with a sophisticated edge. Fascinate, charm, dazzle and allure. Demanding attention, leaving an impression.

  37. As a 40 something girl who hasn’t been in the door of a Katie’s store for a very long time (reminds me of my beautiful Mum too!), I am completely inspired to now do so because of all of these looks! They are gorgeous! But if I have to pick one…like you Nikki, I am a maxi dress lover and always will be!!!

  38. I think the Off-the-Shoulder Maxi Dress – I love the colours and patterns and it looks so cool for Summer. This is another amazing competition…you are so kind to your subscribers…thanks you Styling You (Nikki) 🙂

  39. I love, love, love the printed kimono for its beautiful colours, and the fall of the cut. I would, like you pair it with jeans for a casual look, and a LBD for nighttime glamour. Congrats on the campaign. You look great in everything.

  40. I LOVE that you have done this campaign – clever, clever Katies, because honestly I have not stepped inside one of their stores since Mum shopped there in the ’80’s – now I am curious and going to have a look. I think the Maxi Dress is my favourite – I tend to wear tailored monochrome or kaftans in summer and not much in between – so this dress would be a nice departure. I have recently cut my hair short and love a bit of shoulder action. Having a bit of a neutral/nude moment with sandals, bought a heel and flat pair which would work brilliantly. xx

  41. My pick of the fashions is the Mystic Dreams Maxi that I adore so much that I went and bought it yesterday. I have not had a maxi for years but loved this one and can see it coming in handy for trips away and weekend BBQ’s. I am going to visit my daughter for her 21st Birthday next month as she is studying abroad for the semester in Hong Kong and can see me getting a lot of wear from this maxi as well as the Citrus tunic that I also purchased. Could have had a field day in Katies for my trip to Hong Kong had the budget allowed it. lol Thanks for being an ambassador for Katies. Love your Style

  42. I’d love to win this prize as being a new mum my wardrobe needs an update! I love the maxi dress and the kimono look – both would be so versatile for my lifestyle as I could wear either of them to the park with my son, out for drinks/dinner (which doesn’t happen very often!) or to work for casual Friday. And I’m called Katie so the prize has my name written all over it (boom tish!) x

  44. I like the peasant top and crop pants, maybe with flat shoes though. I love that Maxi dress but not on me, I don’t like off the shoulder styles. I’m pleased to see you working with Katies which is affordable for most people.

  45. To be totally honest I personally wouldn’t pick any, not taking away the fact that you look amazing, however seeing as there are no boundaries on looking sassy at any age my 70 year old beautiful mother would look absolutely fabulous in look five! Those pants and lace front top would continue to enhance her already classy style!

Those pants and lace front top would continue to enhance her already classy style!

  47. I love the white extended sleeve top and 7/8 black pants, this would be great for work as I have just gotten a new job and after wearing a uniform for the last 10 years am going to have to go out and get a whole new work wardrobe 🙂

  48. Choices, Choices, I love the lace front top and the 7/8 pants. Really love the monochrome look. I also love the peasant top with the ruched leg pants and scarf, thought it might be fun to try some colour as I get in trouble by my hubby all the time for wearing black too much. I love scarves the can really change an outfit.

  49. The extended sleeve lace top and the black 7/8 pants are so me, a comfortable look that can take me anywhere throughout the day or night at a moments notice.

  50. Katie’s high split tunic is the ultimate, versatile, chic, classy essential wardrobe piece that I can confidently wear and feel fashionable, trendy and modern…a must item!

  51. I could totally see the maxi at the melbourne cup carnival. Styled up with killer heels and an Amal clooney floppy hat. !! Giddy up

  52. My pick would be the Peasant Top, Rouch Leg Crop pant and Mosaic tile Cotton Scarf. The colours are so fresh and the outfit looks so comfortable on you Nikki. I could see myself wearing this.

  53. I would love to wear the off the shoulder maxi dress. I hate getting tan lines in summer, so this dress would get my shoulders nice and brown. I know it is unfashionable to get a tan, but I am fortunate to have olive skin and I tan easily…..

  54. I seriously love them all – but can I do this??? Can I have the ultimate jeans, with the peasant top and the mosaic scarf? I love pale on pale – I love how skinny, fresh and comfortable you look and I love the Katies story. I’m a third generation user too – and I reckon my girls won’t be far behind!

  56. Decisions, decisions but i would have to say jeans and kimono. Fresh, bright and kimono hides tuckshop arms. Good luck everyone

  57. Well, if I was fortunate enough to win out of all these amazing entries, I would give this voucher to my beautiful mum, who is turning 70 in a few months, and is so deserving.
I could definitely see her rocking the peasant top and rouched crop pants when we take her out to celebrate such a great milestone!
She never treats herself, and it would be so nice to be able to take her on a shopping spree and not have her worry about the cost (being on a disability pension means she can’t often afford too many nice things).
Many thanks for the opportunity to win. I don’t often tell mum that I love her, but if I won, it would show her that she is always in my thoughts, and that I do!

  58. The citrus longline tunic is divine, styled with my favourite white acrobat pants (Verge) and the sweet cork wedges (Rivers) I picked up last week it’s the ideal fresh spring style for my lifestyle.

  59. Nikki you certainly got me thinking about my childhood. That jingle…..KKKKKaties !!!!!!!! Wowser that certainly transported me back (faster than the tardis!!) Love this new collection!!! Love that those in charge of the styling at Katies for this season have certainly thought about their target audience!!!! This season is an absolute winner and has me back looking through Katies stores again!!! YAY!!! For me the maxi you have styled is the standout!!! Down here in Adelaide it would certainly have me styling it for the hot month of February but before that I can see it being a winner for the Xmas celebrations. Katies you have chosen wisely by asking Nikki to be part of your team. Well done to you all……I have been spending up and will continue to do so for SS15 +++++

  60. Extended sleeve lace top and black 7/8 pants. It’s a simple feminine look that I can wear anywhere by making it look different with a few accessories.

  61. Extended sleeve lace top and black 7/8 pants. It’s a simple feminine look that I can wear anywhere by making it look different with a few accessories.

  62. My pick is the off the shoulder Maxi dress. I’m due to give birth to twins in early December. This gorgeous maxi dress would not only show off my giant twin belly now but also look great once the babies are here, helping me to look stylish and feel good in the coming summer months.

  63. Firstly, you look amazing in all of these outfits Nikki (as usual) but one particularly stands out to me. I’d be picking the Citrus longline tunic, as I agree the colour is bang on trend and the shape is timeless and versatile. I bought a citrus tunic from Katie’s two summers ago and whenever I have a #rediscoveryourwardrobe moment I still get compliments and that’s what you want from your #everydaystyle. I shopped in Katie’s today and got two tops and a dress in the sale for the bargain price of $30, how awesome! I love that the brand continually offers styles which are contemporary, yet flattering, great quality and terrific value. Thanks Katie’s, for acknowledging that women of all shapes, sizes and ages need and want to look stylish!

  64. It’s so hard to choose but I have to go with the kimono and jeans. It’s just so me, I could wear it shopping or out for a casual meal.

  65. Definitely the Extended Sleeve Lace Front top and 7/8 pants. Love dark colours and in the last 12 months a friend has convinced me twice to try something white and I have loved it – even though all I can think is, I’m going to get it filthy! I am also someone who doesn’t completely update her wardrobe – each season I tend to just buy a couple of new things to add to what I already have (I find it so hard to part with anything!).

  66. I’d definitely purchase the stunning printed kimono and slim cotton ultimate jeans! I love a wide waistband to help flatten and sculpt the body for a comfortable fit and just like yourself, I love the added interest the kimono adds to the outfit. It’s just perfection!

  67. I really like the Extended Sleeve Lace Front top and pants it is a classic piece that you can mix and match with anything. It looks so clean and bright.

  68. Katies Texture Print kimono $59.95 | Slim Cotton Ultimate jean $49.95, I love the print on the kimono so fresh and free looking. Cotton jeans that are perfect for Spring weather. Love the look, love the colours and the style would suit me perfectly.

  69. I love the texture print kimono and slim cotton ultimate jean look. It looks so effortless glam, casual and dressy, the type of look it says you have style, no matter what 😉

  70. The ‘off the should maxi dress’ would be perfect for summer days with cute sandals, and gorgeous for a night out with heels & some big earrings.

  71. The black, charcoal and white outfit is definitely for me. I love to look smart, yet not overdressed, comfortable with pizzazz, and up-to-date without being over-the-top. I can see myself wearing something like this just about anywhere, and for almost any occasion.

  72. oh yes we can totally achieve an awesome styling look together wearing the extended sleeve lace front top in white and the 7/8 pants. Two great minds think a like, I love love love this look x

  73. Im loving your Extended Sleeve Lace Front top with your 7/8 pants, as im a pants girl myself and love the sleeves on your Lace top, nice and comfy for me to wear around my grandkids……

  74. Katies Texture Print kimono $59.95 | Slim Cotton Ultimate jean $49.95

I’m a new mum and this would be great to wear when feeding. Colours are gorgeous.

  75. Texture Print kimono | Slim Cotton Ultimate jean – would have me looking like a school pick-up fashion master instead of a total fashion disaster!

  76. I love the off the shoulder Maxi dress! Perfect for day or night, can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion!! Love, love, love it!! 🙂

  77. SLEEVEless to say, the Katies Extended Sleeve Lace Front top $49.95 | 7/8 pants $59.95 (to come).

I could wear that anywhere! Drinks with the girls, office or a night out. PANTastic!

  78. The lace top & 7/8 black trousers for me as it has a slightly more tailored look and I firmly inhabit the ‘you cannot own too many black trousers’ camp!

  79. All the looks are great, but my favourite is the Citrus High Split tunic. It is so fresh, light & perfect for our upcoming spring/summer weather. Thank you & well done Katies!

  80. I’m cruising the high seas in January and that beautiful off the shoulder maxi dress has my name written all over it for Sailaway ! Toot toot!

  81. katies of the shoulder maxi dress as its perfect for summer days and can be dressed up for a night time part. Beautiful fabric

  82. Spring is nature’s way of saying ‘let’s party’, I think that Maxi dress screams ‘Hello Spring’ and I’m ready to wear it to a party.

  83. Mystic Dreams rouge cropped pants and peasant top for me, perfect for school run but casual enough to mess around with little one

  84. Definitely the off the shoulder maxi dress! I’ve never been brave enough to try this style and would love to give it a go to bring some summery sunshine to my wardrobe!

  85. I love the bright 80’s colours of this season. Not only will I embrace them (also steel myself for a trip down amnesia lane as I revisit the colours) in new styles for women of all ages. Thank you Katies for remembering that we all love you!

  86. The gorgeous soft colour palette of the kimono and jeans combo would be a fabulous addition to my wardrobe. I would love to team this with my silver Ellie Frankie4 sneaker for a trip to the park with my kiddies or as seen on your lovely self Nikki a nude heel to for a date with my hubby. Its great to see Katies fashion on a real woman!

  87. Definitely the citrus high split tunic for me – love it! As a child of the 70’s I remember the Katies ads well – they were singing my name!

  88. You had me at “rouch leg”. What a great way to draw the eye downward away from my mummy-hips. Crop pants are perfect for the approaching weather. They’d definitely put a spring in my step.

  89. Katies Texture Print kimono AND Slim Cotton Ultimate jean suits my casual lifestyle. I can mix and match both versatile pieces and dress them up or down depending on the occasion. Two great and affordable investments for my summer wardrobe this year

  90. Katies Off Shoulder maxi dress $69.95
I can totally see me wearing this – LONG dresses are my THING.
They allow me to hide my so-white-it-scares-me legs!
I saw this style on display and didn’t think it would suit me… I could quite possibly be wrong!

  91. Katies Extended Sleeve Lace Front top $49.95 | 7/8 pants $59.95
I can see this transforming me from drab to fab, and getting me ready with a confidence boost to re-enter the work force

  92. Katies Peasant top $59.95 (to come) | Rouch Leg Crop pant $49.95 (to come)| Mosaic Tile cotton scarf $24.95

I see myself having a girly catch up in the peasant top with Rouch Leg Crop pant and if I my margarita lands on my pants, missing the top, nobody will know!

  93. I could see myself in the Texture Print kimono with jeans. It is a really lovely, relaxed restort-style outfit that could be worn anywhere.

  94. OMG the stunning high split tunic looks amazing on you, it’s something I’ve always really wanted to wear but not been brave enough. You’ve shown me how I can style it to suit someone in their forties and not feel like I don’t know what I’m doing. I’m extremely excited now, and a bit nervous, to buy the tunic in that colour.

  95. Katies Extended Sleeve Lace Front top $49.95 | 7/8 pants $59.95 (to come)

SLEEVEless to say she looks gorgeous! Looks like a RUNWAY success to me so I’d love to be a HANGER-on!

  96. I love the Texture Print kimono and the slim cotton ultimate jeans, they look so light and perfect for Spring and the warmer weather, perfect for a day out

  97. I can see myself wearing the kimono and ultimate jeans! Bubs number 2 is due in 7 weeks (eeek!) so a kimono is perfect for helping to cover up while breastfeeding in summer. Plus, those jeans would have to keep my post baby curves comfy while I run around after a toddler too!

  98. The texture print kimono and slim cotton ultimate jeans … I can see myself in these for so many occasions because it’s feminine, summery, flattering and versatile, not to mention super comfortable. Love it! 🙂

  99. The texture print kimono and slim cotton ultimate jeans … I can see myself in these for so many occasions because it’s feminine, summery, flattering and versatile, not to mention super comfortable. Love it! 🙂

  100. I can see myself in the texture print kimono and slim cotton ultimate jeans because as a busy mum I prefer comfy, practical clothes, but I still want to look good!

  101. I can see myself wearing the off shoulder maxi
With high heels or flats I’d feel so sassy
A split up the leg, but not too high
At my age I shouldn’t show too much thigh
With a range of sizes, it will fit me and you
So stunning the colours of coral and blue

  102. I can see myself wearing all of these outfits!…I used to shop Katies a lot when my kiddies were little…loved the quality and the relaxed style.
Nowadays I have two distinct wardrobes, so my pick for work would be the black pants and white top, very elegant…for play there is nothing like a gorgeous maxi and this off the shoulder number is just gorgeous.
Thank you Nikki and Katies <3

    My email – [email protected]

  103. I can see myself in the beautiful Katies Off-The-Shoulder Maxi Dress, because it would transform this tired legging attired housewife into a sassy, confident stylista 🙂

  104. My choice would be the gorgeous white lace top teamed with stylish black pants. I am drawn to more classic shapes and don’t feel comfortable being too “out there” but love anything with classy, arty detail. These two pieces look perfect together but would also be wonderful for mixing and matching.
I’d love to own this outfit!

  105. I love the off the shoulder maxi. Cute boho look that is very summery, plus it looks like it cleverly hides a multitude of sins around the tummy!

  106. Kimono and jeans! Jeans are my staple all year round I love the lighter colourway for a fresh summer look. I could take this look easily from Mum duty teamed with flats to me time with a pair of heels and change of necklace and bit of makeup.I have discovered Katies this year and am loving the stories they have offered and the prices especially when the sale periods hit!

  107. Loving the peasant top and rouch leg crop pant – elegant summer casuals for the warm summer days to come – love Katies for an everyday look xx

  108. Loooove the off the shoulder Maxi…just right to show off summer tan and who doesn’t need a pop of orange in the summer wardrobe!

  109. I love the kimono and light denim jean look. I have never worn lighter denim and I think the total look says hello spring time. It is feminine, versatile and on trend – which I am trying hard to be 🙂

  110. Off-shoulder maxi dress would be my ‘go-to’ item this summer. It’s not only versatile from day to evening (with right accessories!!), it would also look great on my tall frame with a nice pair of heels. Something to pack with me on a cruise.

  111. I love the orange rouch leg crop pants and the peasant top. The pants look so comfortable and the rouch touch just lifts them out of the ordinary. The vibrant colour matches beautifully with the fresh crisp look of the white top. The scarf is perfect touch to add that indefinable elegance to this beautiful outfit! I would happily wear this for a special occasion!

  112. I would love to see myself in the extended sleeve lace front top and 7/8 pants – I have been looking for some black pants to style up my casual wear for spring – I am so sick of jeans! These are stylish and so well priced, and the lace top is just the right length to cover my little “muffin top!”.

  113. I can definitely see myself in the black and white number. Black and white is absolutely classic, and I love the lace top. Stunning!

  114. Oh I so love the kimono top and jeans look- even though I tend to be a monochrome fan. This seasons Katie’s range is gorgeous & I might have to break my own rules xx love it, & love supporting bloggers (real people) wearing brands. Such a smart move Katie’s 😉

  115. The Katie’s maxi dress. I’ve been searching for a maxi to replace a couple I recently have gotten rid of. I can see myself in this, it’s fresh, and reminds me of being on holidays.

  116. Just love the maxi off shoulder dress! A gorgeous print that suits day or night and happy to hear about the elasticised waist. Perfect.

  117. The last outfit with the white lace front top and the black 7/8 pants. They’re stylish and classic, providing a great base to dress up with a blazer, or down with a denim or leather jacket. It’s also a great base outfit to inject a colour pop with shoes, handbag and/or nails.

  118. Nikki I love the off the shoulder maxi dress. Even though I’m probably a young’n for Katies (27 years old) I feel that thist style, cut and design wouldn’t make me look older than I am.

  119. I bought my wedding dress when Katie’s Bridal store was closing down in Canberra in1972, it was hidden at the back don’t know if someone had put it there to come & get it later. My mother was looking at all the frills & lace gowns, which I kept saying no. My dress was perfect very plain crepe with a slight train a peplum top with a bit of lace around hem of top & sleeves, not a frill or bow to be seen (& no veil) cost me $35
I have been buying clothes from Katie’s ever since, bought a great top there last week, love the clothes

  120. I went and bought these jeans yesterday after seeing this post and I can confirm they are awesome. Extremely comfy, good height waist and good range of colours. I wear jeans to work a lot but find it hard to strike a balance between jeans that are comfy to mooch about in (my office is full of breakout spaces and I spend a lot of my time sitting on couches or in low arm chairs), stretchy enough to run workshops in (gotta be able to crouch down, sit on the floor, drag furniture around…) and structured enough to retain their shape so they’re not baggy 10 minutes after I put them on. This is the jean! I’ll be wearing these with blazers and ballet flats on meeting and teaching days, and tshirts and sandals on getting stuff done days. I’m sure I’ll be ordering the other colours too. Thanks for the recommendation! I don’t own a single kimono but I’m inspired by the pic here and may just give it a go. I like a longer line top over skinnies and this seems like a good alternative to a tunic. I’m eagerly awaiting the arrival of those rouche leg pants, too.

  121. I can see myself wearing Katies Extended Sleeve Lace Front top $49.95 | 7/8 pants $59.95 (to come) as it can be worn for work and then could easily be dolled up a little for after work dinner or a drink (or two…)

  122. I’ve just popped home from a trip to my local Katies, with that off the shoulder maxidress as my reward! It’s as chic and comfy as it looks, and will be amazing dressed up with gladiator wedges, or dressed down with sandals and a denim jacket. Long live Katies!

  123. I love the Katies Off The Shoulder Maxi Dress, perfect for any occasion, the races, a backyard BBQ or a day at the beach, it looks gorgeous!

  124. I can see myself wearing the Katies Texture Print kimono $59.95 | Slim Cotton Ultimate jean $49.95 combo because it can be styled for younger people as well as the colours are nice and light and flattering.

  125. I love the idea of a maxi dress but as a woman with boobs I find it incredibly hard to find one with wide enough straps I can wear a bra with or one that doesn’t make me look pregnant. This one looks like a winner. Yippee!

  126. I’m wonder woman flying straight into that kimono! Just my colours and a wearable meditative mantra ‘lush-palm-leaves-in-the-breeze-lush-palm-leaves-in-the-breeze’ for whenever the school run traffic gets heated.

  127. I’m a work-from-home gal too, and really love the rouche pants and white peasant blouse. A complementary scarf, cute flats and you’re out the door in a minute.

  128. I am in LOVE with the off the shoulder maxi dress, so gorgeous and versatile. A great day dress or summer night piece with some great accessorising.

  129. I am going to pick them all! I am going to buy the lot over spring/summer.
My Party dress has to be the off the shoulder maxi I remember having this look in the 70’s. Just love it! I love the Muted pastels they really let you know Spring has sprung!

  130. Definitely the off the shoulder maxi. Allows a bit of skin, accentuates my waist but covers up my upper arms. Just perfect for me.

  131. Gorgeous pics! my pick would be the rouch leg crop pant, peasant top and scarf. Perfect casual wear for an easy Sunday lunch by the water here in Perth

  132. Absolutely adore the Katie’s off the shoulder maxi dress. So cool for hot summer days and evenings, dress it up at night with glam heels and accessories.

  133. Love the lacey white top and black pants. I could see myself wearing that and feeling confident, it’s a beautiful and elegant classy outfit.

  134. I can see myself in the kimono and jeans outfit. I’ve always loved that look on others and seeing it styled on you makes me think that maybe I could pull it off! We all just need that little bit of confidence…

  135. The Katies High Split Tunic is simply divine. I can definitely see myself wearing this and it fits in so beautifully with my wardrobe!!

  136. The Extended Sleeve Lace Front Top and the 7/8 pants outfit looks great to wear out on a beautiful Spring day catching up with girlfriends for a Coffee and a much needed catch up.

  137. The off the shoulder maxi dress is definitely what I’d love to wear, because I love the way maxis don’t cling to you, and give you a thinner taller look. We all can use that huh? Plus I just lost 35lbs after a year of hard work, exercising and eating healthier. So maxi’s are secret weapons to me until I loose that last 15lbs!! Love your blog!!

  138. The Extended Sleeve Lace Front top with the 7/8 Black Pants would be fantastic for work. Stylish, perfect length to show a little skin, but not too much for someone my size. Gorgeous!

  139. I love the Katies Off Shoulder maxi dress . This stylish dress would fit perfectly with the provenance, tradition, fashion, culture and live performance scene that is Melbourne. It looks super comfortable and would enable me to take my fashion look from daytime casual, to office
    professional, to party perfect!

  141. This citrus tunic fresh and bright,
Cool and crisp, stylish and light.
With light weight jeans the perfect pair,
Or crop pants for summer wear.
Day or night it doesn’t matter,
This timeless outfit will always flatter.

  143. It is ever so much easier to be good if your clothes are fashionable! I love ALL your looks! So gorgeous. But If I would have to choose it would be Kimono/jeans look .. no wait .. the off shoulder maxi dress .. Love love love Katies! Still devastated that they closed down the shop at my local mall .. but I travel .. xx

  144. KATIES, OH KATIES, where have you been?
I.m hearting that kimono and those ultimate jeans…
    Affordably priced and stylish to the extreme;
This outfit is so me – the perfect spring team!

This outfit is so me – the perfect spring team!

  146. LOVE LOVE LOVE the Katies’ Mystic Dreams outfit – it is so me and i would feel so beautiful wearing it (and i so need new clothes as mine as so old and daggy) 🙂

  147. With the weather warming up and the social calendar filling up, I would love the extended sleeve lace front top and 7/8 pants to add to my wardrobe. They would be great for dinner and drinks and would fit effortlessly into my wardrobe to give me more options with what l already own.

  148. I love your Mystic Dreams outfit. My favorite memory of Katies is when I grew out of children’s sizes & Mum took me off to Katies for my first ‘grown up’ outfit – being tall it would of been when I was around 12. It was a fancy t-shirt with gold sequin details for a school disco!!

  149. I’ve actually visited the Katie’s store recently and loved lots of things in store at the moment! My favourite would have to be the gorgeous off the shoulder maxi dress that you’re wearing- so flattering. A must have for my wardrobe this summer I’m thinking!! (I have fond memories of my mum visiting Katies from my childhood. One of the few fashion stores available in our closest ‘big’ town in the country. Coincidentally my sisters name is ‘Katie’ !!!)

  150. Oh My Goodness, the Katies High Split Tunic is Ahhhhmazing, can be worn so many ways for either day or evening wear…Ohhhh yes indeed a Big Please from me…I love a universal outfit that I can wear both day and night 😀

  151. Having just rediscovered Katies through the Styling You blog, the citrus high split tunic has just been added to my growing shopping list. It would work perfectly over jeans, belted over shorts & even as a beach cover up or dress on those hot summer days

  152. Wow I need to get in to a Katies store! All the outfits appeal but if I had to choose it would be the monochrome look of the Artful Accents outfit. Perfect for office in the day through to drinks and dinner in the evening.

  153. It is so hard to decide as I think each look has something unique. If I really had to choose I think I would go for the georgous extended sleeve lace front top and 7/8 pants. How versatile are these pieces, they would compliment other items in my wardrobe and be an excellent starting point to begin with if lucky enough to win the prize.

  154. Katie’s Mystic Dreams looks amazing. So fresh and summery with a hint of boho. I’m in love. Those bright rouched pants are on my want list now 🙂

  155. Summer is around the corner, the weather is getting warmer, time to relax and de-stress, which I could definitely do if I won the Katies off the shoulder Maxi Dress!

  156. Verily, the magic
words did appear upon the page and thy correspondent sighed with sweet delight
    to sight them: breathability,
comfortable, flattering. Then to behold the Texture Print Kimono and Slim
Cotton Ultimate Jean and to be further enchanted by such loveliness. Now,
    Katies… by this
screen, whereby I see thy garments, thy garments doth make me like thee well!

  157. What a hard choice! I can see me most in the Slim Cotton Ultimate Jean- flexible wearing & so good looking- and the Textured Print Kimono in those beautiful shades that I love.

  158. I just love the Citrus Lime Tunic – You look so modern, cool and refreshed. It looks comfy as well as chic and let’s face it, everyone needs a little zing in their life. It also reminds me of a pine/lime splice which I love.

  159. I could see myself in that beautiful off the shoulder maxi dress, I’ll be the bell of the ball at our next barbecue get together.

  160. Texture Print kimono | Slim Cotton Ultimate jean – loving these ! with a feeling of trendy and flexibility to move these items to update my current wardrobe. Love the new Katies – I do remember the 70’s!!

  161. Katies Texture Print Kimono, Slim Cotton Ultimate Jean are simple and classic style in this upcoming summer season. I would love to try it because they looks beautiful and elegance. As a middle-aged woman, I do not have much confidence to dress up for special occasions. I would definitely visit Katies .

  162. I could see myself wearing the kimono and the slim jeans! I would be able to wear the outfit to work or out with friends, dressed up or down. It would be like being at the beach with the palm print even if I’m nowhere near it! ULTAMITE JEANS LOOK A-MAZING!!

  163. Katie’s Off the shoulder Maxi…. I’d dress it up and down, and would be worn without a frown, lovely for those summer days!.. Free flowing cool fabric for cool people!.. : ) LOVE IT!……. K k Katie’s, you’ve got the clothes that I adore…..

  164. I’m in love with the monochrome look! It is classic, elegant and stylish. This outfit is so versatile & convenient- it could take me from behind the office desk to Friday cocktails in a flash!

  165. Definitely the maxi! A must have for Summer. You can wear it over your bathers, with flats for day time shopping or lunching, or spruce it up for date night with heels.

  166. I love the cool and comfortable look of the peasant top and rouch look crop pants, perfect for spring / summer school drop off and looking after the kids all day!

  167. I could see myself wearing the Artful Accents fashion story look. The Katies extended sleeve lace front top would cover my fat upper arms and flow nicely over my tummy. Being not very tall the 7/8 pants, I would love to try on! This outfit looks great!

  168. You look great, Nikki, and congrats on your catalogue appearance! Loving the look of the kimono outfit, the print and pastels are fab with the lightwash pants.

  169. I would were them all they are all so beautiful, I am also just in my 40 and was stuck with were to buy my clothes so I have just started shopping at Katies and I love it I’ve become a regular in the store and love the lady’s that work there it always breaks my heart that I can’t buy everything in the store and every time I wear a new outfit from Katies I get a compliment there clothes really have changed my life ……

  171. My favourite is the peasant top, cropped pants and scarf. As a marriage celebrant it’s comfortable enough for working from home and dressy enough for a rehearsal or meeting. Double duty dressing – love it.

  173. I recently rediscovered Katies and have some of their loveliness in my wardrobe already. But… OMG the white peasant top… the tile print scarf… the orange pants… that outfit could have been MADE for me, it’s perfect, I love it!! <3 The lace top in the last outfit is also gorgeous, that would go with the orange pants too, or the pale jeans… what the heck, I'll just have the lot please 🙂

  174. The Texture print kimono and the slim jeans are both versatile pieces that can be worn day to night. I love how the jeans can be dressed up or down by changing your shoes and the kimono has the perfect colours that are neutral and will blend with most wardrobes.

  175. The bright and juicy citrus tunic because the colour makes me feel happy and tunics are so versatile. I could wear it with leggings or pants and layer it with a jacket or vest. I could even wear it to the beach over my bathers.

  177. Im casual and boho most of my days so for me the luxury of black and white and the air of sophistication is a real winner! Love them all though.

  178. Im casual and boho most of my days so for me the luxury of black and white and the air of sophistication is a real winner! Love them all though.

  179. I’m really impressed with all these outfits. I don’t normally shop at Katies but I will go in now after seeing these gorgeous style combinations. I really like the Katies OffShoulder Maxi Dress for summer but for the spring months in Canberra I think the Katies Peasant Top and Rouch Leg Crop Pant are an ideal and stylish combination.

  180. Definitely the texture print kimono and slim ultimate cotton jean outfit. I just love a kimono and always have room for more in my wardrobe. The jeans I can vouch for as I’ve bought this type from Katies before and they are indeed comfortable and flattering.

  181. Winter has left me drab in black and not wanting to go anywhere, the citrus tunic style would make me feel fresh and lovely ready for springtime fun.

  182. That kimono & comfy jeans looks perfect!
I have just moved my business from a home office to a new design studio and have to step-up from the yoga pants I’ve been wearing every day for the last 3 years!

  183. I totally agree that you showing us ways to wear Katies outfits
(and others) is FABULOUS and would love to see more. I so wish you had been able to video the styling session – or maybe you will come to Sydney

one day!!?? Seeing you in all of the clothes is so much more REAL than the mannequin inspiration, it is so empowering. I even organised
a Katies laybuy yesterday and am eagerly awaiting the rouched pants!!!
Keep showing us more Katies outfits – I love it!!!

  184. The stunning Katies Off Shoulder Maxi Dress is on my wish list! I’ve purchased a few things from Katies recently and think that their range is great at the moment.

  186. The high split tunic just looks so relaxed and comfy yet stylish…love the colour too…perfect for chasing my twin girls at the park!!

  187. The Texture Print Kimono & Slim Cotton Ultimate Jean:

With a casual style & flair,
    I would wear Katies everywhere,
From the local markets looking fine,
To a High Tea looking divine!

  189. Definitely the high split tunic for me. I spend my working days in a ‘uniform rules’ environment and this tunic looks vibrant, comfortable and stylish to transport me to a more playful space.

  190. I would love to wear the Katies Texture Print kimono $59.95 | Slim Cotton Ultimate jean $49.95. Looks so comfy and covers up those lumps and bumps – v. important 🙂

  191. I would love to wear the Katies Texture Print kimono $59.95 | Slim Cotton Ultimate jean $49.95. Looks so comfy and covers up those lumps and bumps – v. important 🙂

  192. Wow great looks all of them, but I definitely could see myself wearing the Textured Print Kimono and Slim Cotton Jeans. I really need to get away from wearing nearly all black and I love this look so much I could tear myself away and lighten up for spring/summer. I have never had light jeans before but you have inspired me to rock this look. It really is essential to change looks each season and I am committed to stretching myself to do this.
Casual elegance is the way to go. Love it.

  193. The Kimono and jeans, I love the casual look that you can dress up if you like and the colours are cute. I am a huge fan of how the kimono is longer at the back to cover my bum!

  194. The Extended Sleeve Lace Front Top and 7/8 pants. I love wearing lacey tops and I’m not a fan of skirts or dresses so it’s pants for me!

  195. Oh I just love the kimono & jeans combo. The colours are just divine & it is the perfect outfit for most occasions that my life revolves around. I can go out looking super stylish whilst still being practical enough to chase around my two small boys. Love love love!

  196. I can see my self wearing Katies Extended Sleeves Lace Front Top and 7/8 pants as this looks elegant and smart and would be great for both day and night Love it.

  198. I can see my self wearing Katies Extended Sleeves Lace Front Top and 7/8 pants as this looks elegant and smart and would be great for both day and night Love it.

  199. I really love the Katies Extended Sleeves Lace Front top and 7/8 pants – I am not really a lacey person, but I love the texture of this top. I also like the way you have styled ankle strap shoes with the 7/8 pants.

  200. I am heading off to buy the peasant top, crop pants and scarf today. I love it! I wish all brands would have normal sized models like Nikki model their clothes, I am so insecure about my curves and pudge, even though I am a size 12-14! I am shaped exactly like Nikki, something that has only happened in the last decade. Dieting simply doesn’t work at all so I am trying so hard to become comfortable with my more soft shape.

  201. I ADORE the pastel kimono and pale jean. Often I shy away from paler colours but I feel like these looks are bang on for the Spring/Summer season for a pale blonde like me. I love a look like that that can be lunchtime BBQ with flats, or nighttime glam with a statement necklace and a beautiful heel. Gorgeous, Nikki!

  202. I can see myself striding stylishly to work in the Katies Extended Sleeves Lace Front Top and 7/8 pants after completing my 7 months maternity leave this November, LOVE this look!!

  203. oh looking good! I love the citrus tunic look – so fresh and summery after a long drab winter adding the pops of colour to brighten up our spring days! This outfit would be perfect for my ever expanding baby bump to take me from spring to summer

  204. Katies Peasant top, Rouch Leg Crop pant and Mosaic Tile cotton scarf. My first love affair with clothes as a teen happened in a Katies Store in 1980 when I saved up my pocket money and spent up big at the Katies markdown rack. How I loved the clothes and how I wore them and felt a million dollars..The outfit you are wearing would make me feel the same way as I did back then…

  205. Ahh… the Artful Accents would be for me. I’m a compliance manager by day and I like to wear black and white for work because, well , that sums up my job! Helping my clients navigate compliance rules which are black and white! I also prefer pants/top for my work which can involve travel in cars and flights and then straight to an evening work function. Katies always create stylish on trend pieces that are affordable and easy care. Now that Nikki is on board to help “styling me” I can’t imagine shopping elsewhere for my work day look. I would love to win $500 to shop at Katies to help me update my wardrobe .

  206. The Katies’ Mystic Dreams spring-summer 2015 story outfit, I put comfort way above style but this look actually manages to pull both off at once!

  207. The Katies’ Mystic Dreams spring-summer 2015 story outfit, I put comfort way above style but this look actually manages to pull both off at once!

  208. Kimono and jeans all the way! I practically live in jeans in any season, but the pastel blue shouts “SPRING! HOORAY FOR SOME WARMER WEATHER!”. Coupled with such a beautiful flowy top in a stunning print, this outfit looks comfy and stylish all at the same time 🙂 Love, love, love!

  209. Love the Citrus shift – this looks sleek and effortless and I would wear to lunch, to brunch or work on a Friday. The colour pop is fantastic. I also really love the Monochrome look – with a hint of boho – as we always need to bring a little boho chic into our work life.

  210. Definitely the maxi dress! Covers my slightly flabby upper arms but shows the top of the shoulders – very flattering for most women! And the extended sleeve lace front top is good looking and versatile – easy to wear as a casual piece or dress up. I bought a couple of things from Katies a few weeks ago for spring for the first time in a long time and am really happy with them. Can’t wait for it to warm up here down south so I can actually wear them tho! Cheers, Tracy.

  211. Slim ultimate jeans.. Love the rejuvenation happening at Katie’s. Like you I too can remember being dragged in with Mum.
I am a single, in my late 30’s, my past time is shopping and I am known for being naughty with my spending. My friends were surprised when I told them about Katie’s jeans, which I have seen featured on Insta accounts and tried with successful. The ultimate jeans offered a smooth finish, pull in the bits and fit an adults body. Price is great and their loyalty program.

  213. Congrats Nikki! I am loving Katies these days. Since late last year, actually. Something just seem to click back into place. Or I did.
I adore that last combination. I love a cheeky (tasteful) hint of skin, and also love to get dressed up for a night out but not too dressed up (because my ‘nights out’ are usually to a friend’s house or just out to a quick dinner). I have been searching for the perfect pair of black pants that aren’t jeans or leggings. Have you found them for me?!

  214. Too much to choose from at Katies this Spring. Can’t decide between the rouched crop leg pant, kimono or lace front shirt, but if I win the voucher I can have them all and more!!

  215. As you can see I could see myself wearing this outfit, it’s a classic piece that can be worn as casual or going to work. It’s the colours that I love so that I can wear a bright necklace or earrings with.

  216. The texture print kimono with the slim cotton ultimate jean looks divine – the perfect stylish casual outfit to see me through the Spring BBQ season! I love the floaty nature of a kimono with slim jeans and these colours are perfect – I would call it the pastel trend for those of us that hate traditional pastel colours – just sensational!

  217. Love the maxi dress on you Nikki! I had such fun giving style tips here in Perth at Westfield Carousel for Katies. I agree that Katies are fabulous at designing clothes for every woman no matter what their shape or size, or age. The cape sleeve coral top I wore to the session will definitely be one of me wardrobe staples this spring.

  218. Love the maxi dress. I’ve been looking for a comfortable maxi dress that I can breastfeed in this summer and I think that one will be perfect. Off to check it out on the Katie’s website.

  219. I love love love citron so the high split tunic for me with a pair of white Katies Ultimate jeans to go. Ultimate jeans are fabulous – size 10 for skinny days and size 12 when I’m not. And this from a woman who is a serious 14+ most days. Any brand that lets me …. NO ENCOURAGES ME… to go down a size or two is a winner for me.

  220. I think you look great in all of the outfits. For me, I’d choose the peasant top and rouch leg crop pants (although, as usual, they will probably be full length on me!). I love the wedges you’re wearing with that outfit too, are they your own?

  221. Katies Texture Print kimono and Slim Cotton Ultimate jean is my favourite. Love, love, love the layered look as it covers all my bumps and lumps. Katies is my favourite place to shop for fashion and I love how they keep up with the latest trends.

  222. My memories of Katies are similar to yours Nikki – holding the curtains in the changing room as my Mum tried on her favourite picks. Life has now come full circle and then some as I have now introduced my own daughter to Katies and I hold the curtain closed for her as she tries on her favourite picks..
I could see myself in every look but if I had to pick one it would be the Off the Shoulder maxi. I could envision myself sipping cocktails pool side and feeling confident that I looked my best. And to me confidence is a beautiful sexy trait in any women. Also I know it would be an outfit that my daughter would love to borrow.

  224. Definitely the Kimono and slim jeans – I have a 1 pair of the ultimate jeans already and they are THE best. Even thought I don’t yet scrap into the aged 30 catagory (4 months shy) I love shopping at Katies – great prices and fits.

  225. You look wonderful in everything. And I’m sure someone else has already pointed it out, but they have misspelt your name as Pakinson on the video (when you are talking to the camera). Tell them to get it right because you deserve it.

  226. I would definitely wear the Off Shoulder Maxi Dress! It looks very forgiving which is perfect with the festive season approaching!

  229. The dress! (Although you look gorgeous in all of them Nikki!)
I’m 30kg down over the past couple of years and last weekend purchased my first dress in over 20 years!
The boho dress would be a fabulous addition to my collection! xo

  230. I could see myself wearing the extended sleeve lace front top and 7/8 pants, this is a great look for work, yet looks so comfortable.

  231. So so very gorgeous! I love the kimono and slim jeans it would look great against my complexion, flatter my curves and matches my carefree fun personality

  232. Omg I love it all! You look gorgeous in it all; I think the maxi dress on you is stunning…just beautiful. I’ll be hijacking their online store stat! Thanks for showing us how these gorgeous outfits can come alive x

  233. Would love the Kimono & the slim cotton ultimate jeans – so hard to find a great fitting, comfortable and flattering pair of jean (at almost 60). this whole outfit looks just perfect & love the colours!

  235. Has retail seen the light at last,
no longer living in the past?
    Well Katies got the message fast;
they went and hired our Nikki 🙂

The market has its highs and lows,
but Katies is in touch and shows
a better way to market clothes,
    now customers are picky.

Hooray for different shapes and sizes,
    we’ve convinced the advertisers,
keep it real, no more disguise
    and photo-shopping tricky.

Whether we’re plus size or petite,
young or old, the view is sweet
    when stereotypes are in retreat,
    and sexism takes a sickie.

When clothes aren’t modelled by a teen
And on an older woman seen
    A broader following they glean,
    not just the eccentric-y.

The palmfrond kimono wins my heart
Its airy shape puts me in sart-
orial bliss with pastel art —
(‘cause brights make me feel icky) 🙂

Nikki, I’m glad you had a ball,
    Spear-heading fashion’s overhaul;
    But now I’ve hit a rhyming wall;
I’m off – for tea and biccy.

  237. First of all I just saw the photos of you in the Katies’ outfits and I thought to myself “hey, Nikki should be a model for them”, then I read your article that you are! Congrats and so exciting! Great photos and great outfits too!

  238. Citrus High Split tunic looks like the perfect all rounder…work to lunch to dinner on a weekday. Bbq lunch with cropped jeans or leggings or glammed up with some bling for dinner at one of Melbourne’s laneway restaurants.

  239. All of them! I really need a new v wardrobe but as a mum of 2 have little money to splurge on clothing. It all looks comfy n lush. I think i would look and feel beautiful

  240. All of them! I really need a new v wardrobe but as a mum of 2 have little money to splurge on clothing. It all looks comfy n lush. I think i would look and feel beautiful

  242. Love the last look! Perfect for a low key garden cocktail wedding reception I have looming. Now just to source your shoes and clutch…

  243. Nikki, after seeing how fab you look in it, I could see myself in the off the shoulder Maxi Dress. Maybe a belt and heels and a glass of champagne. Who knew KKKaties still has their finger on the pulse

  244. I could see myself wearing the Mystic Dreams off the shoulder maxi. I could put a pair of heels with it to wear to dinner, a pair of thongs znd a floppy hat to the beach or a narket, and some nice leather sandals for brunch with friends. The print is beautiful and the cut hides those bumps, the flow of excess fabric would feel light and look flattering on all women for warmer days.
I can not wait to see the catalogue, katies do an amazing spring summer wardrobe.

  245. These outfits are absolutely stunning, and you look fabulous in all of them Nikki. I had no idea that Katies had such a stylish range, and seeing how well you have showcased each item with the perfect accessories and presentation, I’m sure that many of your readers will be paying Katies a visit soon. I know I will! Particularly love the casual elegance of the tunic and white jeans combo, very European chic!

  246. I Love Katies, I discovered them last year and have bought quite a few frocks from them since and now am off to buy the Boho maxi dress to wear on Christmas day with my brown wedges! perfect relaxed Xmas day outfit!

  247. My goodness all fantastic styles i think Kimono and slim cotton ultimate jeans my pick for this time of year i have a day cruise and few lunch dates coming up this outfit perfect in looks and comfort

  248. Love, love, love the off the shoulder maxi dress. It is so pretty, feminine and so versatile. As soon as I saw it, i thought that is going to be my go to dress this summer! I just went into Katies the other day (haven’t been in years), and bought myself some new tops for work (im a teacher!). Loving the citrus colours i saw in store, even my 3 yr old told me I need to buy some ‘yellow’ tops!

  250. What a great collection. I always seem to pick up one or two Katie’s pieces each season. My pick would be the lace front top and 7/8 pants. I tend towards a classic style of dressing so this is a perfect outfit both in line, proportions (and love a bit of sleeve too) and of course MONOCHROME. I need a lighter black pant at the moment, and especially love the 7/8 length for warmer days so I can see a pair of those coming my way once in stock. Having talked all about me ;), now to you. You showcase the range of styles so well and demonstrate its worth picking up a few items to try that might not be the things you first reach for. The maxi dress looks gorgeous, and probably on the rack I would assume it’s not for me, but now you’ve got me thinking ;).

  251. Ohhhhh, that maxi dress has my name written all over it…may not be able to wait to win the prize draw!! May have to go out and buy it today…31 here in Perth, that dress is calling my name….You look fabulous in ALL of those pieces Nikki.

  252. I would most definitely choose the versatile maxi dress, so flattering and I can channel my inner Offspring character Nina, by accessorizing with necklaces, bag and shoes!

  253. My mum is a Katie-holic. Every single week she calls me up to tell me about her latest Katie’s purchase. Plus gift shopping is always easy, a Katie’s gift card. I could see her in the Extended Sleeve Lace Front top, I wouldn’t be surprised is she has already purchased it lol.

  254. HA! I’d forgotten all about that ad and how ridiculous it was. And how at the time I thought those outfits were the very epitome of chic.

I’m pleased Katies has returned to their roots, for the last decade I feel they have been lost in that awful young look/fast fashion black hole. I have two work dresses that are at least 15 years old and still going strong, so if Katies are back to that level, I will be pleased.

  255. Just in love with those jeans…… can not wait until thursday as its late night shopping. May have to do mayself a favour & go for a wonder. Thank you 🙂

  256. You look divine! I love them all but Im a sucker for anything Boho at the moment so its the maxi dress for me. Together, The dress and I would most probably be found sipping champagne on some sort of yacht. Please note that I sometimes refer to my own outdoor setting as a yacht. 🙂

  257. Congratulations Nikki!!! Great news and Katies has been my favourite shop to “unlock” my style. I love the look of the beautiful Peasant top, Rouched leg crop pants and mosaic scarf for my cruise with the extended family next year!! Well done on the fabulous partnership

  258. Ohhhhh the white peasant top and ruched pants outfit is completely up my alley – casual yet chic, and flattering for my tummy and short legs! I went to click on the link and then saw they are not available yet. Damn!!

  260. I can see myself wearing all or any of the items. Im almost 40 and after a career that has spanned 20 yrs, I am now without a job, a home or a plan. I am starting again and “re-inventing” myself – a new wardrobe would be a great way to start. Provided you can guarantee I will look at good as you do in Katies, Nikki!

    1. And I want to add: I love Katies because of the fit/cut and quality, but also because you can buy stylish and fashion forward items that are “age appropriate” – I don’t want to look 18 but I don’t want to look like a woman over a “certain age” either!

  261. Wow what a fantastic collection! There really is something for everyone. I love the Artful Accents outfit – the white cutout top with the black 7/8 pants could be worn to work, then out for drinks or dinner later.
Nikki you look fabulous in all of these outfits! I also love your hair – the shape is beautiful 🙂

  262. Can we discuss the wedges you are wearing with the ruched pants!!! Details please!! Also love the looks you are wearing!!

  263. All of the above, if my bank manager wasn’t so mean, I’d buy the whole store, but the one I really love, is Katie’s Texture Print Kimono and Ultimate Jeans, the perfect casual outfit to impress a more sympathetic “New Bank Manager” in !

  264. The Katies look I can see myself wearing is the Katies Peasant top, teamed with the Rouched Leg Crop pant and the Mosaic Tile Cotton scarf, because I feel at my best in tops and pants, and this white peasant top is absolutely perfect for my figure, and white tops always flatter my face. The pants look super comfortable. I always feel polished with the addition of a stylish scarf. I know I would be feeling confident and looking wonderful in this outfit.

  265. I can see myself wearing the Texture Print Kimono and the Ultimate Jeans. They are such a great colour. Popped into my local Katie’s this morning and saw you in the Catalogue !!

  266. The Urban Tribe and Key West Kimono and pants would be perfect. I’ve gained weight in the past 6 months and have about two items that fit me. Seriously two…….. wash. dry. repeat. These pants and the kimono would be so versatile and work perfectly with my two existing pieces.

  267. The Urban Tribe and Key West Kimono and pants would be perfect. I’ve gained weight in the past 6 months and have about two items that fit me. Seriously two…….. wash. dry. repeat. These pants and the kimono would be so versatile and work perfectly with my two existing pieces.

  269. The maxi dress – love the boho feel and it looks so comfy and stylish. And versatile – flat sandals for everyday and some nice heels or wedges to dress it up. Fresh colours for the new season too.

  270. The jeans and kimono top – I’m all for comfort and the light coloured jeans are perfect for the warmer spring weather as is the kimono top which keeps it light and interesting. I would wear the kimono with 7/8 length pants and heels for dinner or over a pair of shorts for warmer summer days. So versatile – would be a perfect addition to my wardrobe.

  271. Love the Extended Sleeve Lace Front top, that’s just gorgeous! And with the 7/8 pants it’s a stylish outfit that would be comfy too. My favourite combination! Not sure I could rock those shoes though, too many years in gardening boots!

  272. I’m not really friends with my legs, (I’m working on it) so the ruched pants would be great alternative to shorts for summer. Great outfits and colours!

  273. Oooohh that maxi…it’s so purretty!!! But if I was going to be greedy..!!..I would also squeeze in those rouch crop pants and peasant top?!!!! How good is Katie’s looking nowadays?! Thanks for sharing lovely!!! xx

  275. The maxi would hide my not so perfect arms but still allow my to show a bit of skin after losing 40 kilos. Gorgeous colours too.

  276. I absolutely love every single one of those outfits. You look amazing. As i was scrolling down i could actually see myself wearing the off the shoulder maxi dress and i could imagine how amazing i would feel wearing it.

  278. The Texture Print Kimono and Slim Cotton Ultimate Jeans, this great stylish outfit is my style and what suits me, and if I wear something I look good in I am confident and happy.

  279. One word….FABULOUS!!
I especially love the rouch leg crop pants as being on the shorter side, these would fit my legs perfectly!!

  280. Love the Katie off the shoulder maxi dress! The print is gorgeous and the dress is really versatile – easy to dress up or down. With belt or without. Surprised by the pricing -really affordable, time to take another look at Katies!

  282. wow! Katie’s really has some beautiful pieces and congratulations, you look fabulous.
The off the shoulder maxi dress would be a very welcome addition to my summer wardrobe. As a new mum the dress has easy access for breastfeeding, is flattering, comfortable and stylish.
I learnt the hard (and embarrassing way) that my shorter style of dresses are not suitable for putting bubs in and out of the car or playing on the floor!!

  283. I Love to wear Texture Print kimono and Slim Cotton Ultimate jean perfect for spring & summer , love the colour & pattern

  284. I am very much a monochrome style girl & have a lot of black white & grey shades in my wardrobe which can easily be mixed & matched so I love the black pants with white lacy top. This outfit is simple yet classy & elegant & would be very versatile & suitable for many occasions. I always have a pair of dressy black pants in my collection to team with a variety of tops . This outfit is perfect for an evening function with dressy shoes & clutch but the top would also look lovely with more casual pants for a less dressy occasion. Congrats on the new Katies catalogue Nikki – that is so exciting & it is great to see 30+ women modelling fashions for our age group. I must confess that I have not been into a katies store for years but after seeing this gorgeous collection will definitely be checking out their range now!

  285. I love that boho maxi dress. And I love Katies! I’ve bought a lot from there in the past 12 months. They’ve really improved. (I also like Katies because my name is Katie…)

  286. Sounds terrible but I haven’t been into a Katie’s since I was tagging along shopping with my Mum many moons ago. I love all those styles! The maxi is my favourite but practically I would wear the kimono and pants more frequently. Love them all those orange pants are divine and the citrus top.

  288. I love that boho maxi dress. So pretty and easy for Queensland summer. Plus, an easy way to introduce print into my wardrobe!

  289. The kimono and jeans for sure!!! As a busy mum that style would get me through the day looking awesome but feeling comfortable (and happy that I’m not in my trackies!!!)

  290. The kimono and jeans for sure!!! As a busy mum that style would get me through the day looking awesome but feeling comfortable (and happy that I’m not in my trackies!!!)

  291. The peasant top and ruched pants look cool and chic! I’m keen to check out the whole range though. Great to see more budget friendly choices in your posts Nikki! Looking gorgeous and classy Nikki!

  292. looking ab/fab in all of those pieces nikki!
I particularly like the split side tunic!
    what a great collaboration! … kkkkaties I remember!;
I always find their jeans fit me perfectly!
enjoy your day hun! love :)X

  293. I would choose the kimono and jeans.. It’s something completely different from my usual look (bold colours and prints) to venture into spring!

  294. I am definitely a monochrome girl, as always love a bit of black and white. Would be perfect to wear to the office too if you are heading out at night. Love the maxi dress on you, as is not something I would have considered seeing it on the shelf.

  295. Wow; Stunning shoot! Will definitely take a peek inside my local Katies store next time instead of walking past. The tunic and white jeans are my favourite but all outfits look fantastic as do the shoes, the hair, the makeup; don’t think we didn’t notice the whole package!

  296. So excited to see this collection in the flesh with you tonight! I love all of it! How could I choose just one look? They all look fabulous! But if I had to choose I’d definitely say the Kimono and Cotton Ultimates. Just love those pants!

  297. The maxi dress is my choice. Love the colour. Although the other choices look fabulous, being a mum to two small children pretty much rules out any white from my wardrobe!

  298. Discovered Katie’s this year and love their clothes as a nurse who wears a uniform I don’t have a need for office clothes, but they have a great range of casual pieces that enable me to look smart and put together whilst remaining comfortable running around, so that is why I totally love the peasant top and ruched pants.

  299. The Citrus tunic-brilliantly bold
    Demanding attention,a sight to behold!
Fresh white denim, wedges and a clutch!
Lunch with my girlfriends, the finishing touch!

  300. I could see myself wearing the off the shoulder maxi as I always buy a new outfit each Spring/Summer as my “I’m going to a BBQ” outfit. The party season is nigh!

  301. Fashion is not my thing at all. A friend of mine followed you on fb and as a result your page came up in suggestions. I started following because my friend has great taste in clothes. And i need all the help i can get!!! You have introduced me to scarves, hero pieces and accessories. The fact that i am also a 14-16 up top makes me pay particular attention to how you wear clothes. The extended sleeve lace top looks great, as does the slim cotton ultimate jean outfit. Thanks for a great dose of inspiration!

  302. Despite having lived down under for over 7 years, I still buy all my clothes from the UK, although I’ve just started adding a bit of Katies to my wardrobe. I love their pieces, because they’re affordable, they look great and I feel good when I wear them! Congrats on your collaboration, this is a match made in Fashion Heaven. I love that lace top and black pants, so versatile, it’s the outfit for (almost) all occasions and black and white is always alright! x

  304. Oh I love!!!! I love the way you have styles the pieces, makes it much easier for fashion deer-in-the-headlights people like moi to visualise!!! I adore the tunic you have teamed with white jeans – could totally see myself wearing this to lunch, on a Sunday out with the family or even to work. I am a sucker for a maxi dress too though, am loving the off the shoulder oohlala! Thanks Nikki.

  305. I could really see myself wearing the textured print kimono and slim cotton ultimate jeans
I’ve been a big fan and wearing pieces from Katies for the last couple of years now but in last couple of seasons they have stepped it up
Stylish, on trend and affordable and a brand that has clothes to suit everyone, love Katies

  306. Oh wow, Katies has hit the mark again. I love the citrus tunic! I totally agree with you Nikki, when you reach 40 plus hehehe, you do dress to suit yourself and your personality shines through. Thanks for the sneak preview too.

  307. I love the kimono. I have been a Stay at home Mum for the past 5.5 years but am very excited to be going back to work part time as a teacher next year. I need to update my non existant wardrobe with clothes that can cross over between sahm and teacher…

  308. How very exciting Nikki. Of course you look absolutely fabulous in all the outfits. I would probably wear all of them too. But if I had to choose just one I think the black and white would be for me. I love the look of the pants and I could wear them for work and play. The cutout top is just lovely but I’d be keeping that one for play only. I’m a Katies regular and you’ve just given me more inspiration, thanks.

  309. I spent my first few pay packets at Katie’s in Parramatta in 1969. I had such a wonderful time buying a whole new wardrobe for summer ☺️ Now I am 64 but being petite I am loving the peasant top and ruche leg crop pants. You look great in all the outfits Nikki ☺️ We 60 something’s love to shop at Katie’s still!

  310. I remember that ad very well 🙂 My mother still wears tops she bought from Katies years ago. My grandmother used to shop there in the 70s, along with me too. I love the Artful Accents outfit, even though that maxi is very pretty too. Not sure I could rock the off the shoulder look these days… Love black and white, always looks fresh and smart. You look beautiful in all the photos Nikki, especially the citrus tunic, that colour really suits you 🙂

  311. I’m not much for glamming up and always feel a little silly and not like me. I have an upmarket 50th and also reunion next month and I reckon in the black and white outfit I would like the goods and best of all, feel great!
