Hello and welcome to the monthly beauty post where I feature five of my favourite beauty products I’ve been trialling for the past month.

Not everything I feature will suit you but I’ll feature it here if it has suited me and has had some point of difference that I think you’d be interested in hearing about.

From the five beauty favourites featured here each month until November plus any products I feature in other beauty posts in 2015, I’ll curate my top 20 for the year and publish in December.

As always, I want to hear from you too. Sharing what you’ve discovered and why it’s been great for your skin, hair or makeup look is fantastic for others to hear about too.

June 2015 beauty favourites

1. Clarisonic Pedi Foot Transformation System $250: I’ve been a huge fan of the Clarisonic Mia. I’ve been using it on my face for a deeper cleanse for years now so when I was alerted to a “sister” device for my poor neglected feet, I was super excited. The excitement didn’t turn to disappointment either when using the pedi system. I’ve only photographed the actual device (with one of the brush heads attached – the pedi smoothing disc) but this “system” comes as a product pack that also includes a wet-dry buffing brush head, a foot peel, a foot softening balm and an exfoliant. It’s designed to be used daily (buffing and balm) and twice weekly (smooth, buff, boost with peel and hydrate with balm). This might seem like a lot of effort, particularly if you’re someone like me who has semi-regular pedicures but I can tell you my heels need this kind of care between pedis. This is especially the case during the warmer months when I’m wearing open shoes and the skin on my feet is more prone to dehydration. Buying and using this to ensure you got your value would come down to creating the buffing and balm habit from day one. For me the results are incentive enough to keep at the habit.

2. Laura Mercier Face Illuminator in Indiscretion $42: I’m yet to meet an illuminator I didn’t love and this limited edition beauty from Laura Mercier has got me thinking of balmy evenings in the south of Italy. Actually, a lot has got me thinking of the south of Italy as that’s where you’ll find me for the first week in July. Given that I will not look like a bronzed European, this will go a long way to faking a glow on my face. The entire Un Ete A Ibiza collection is all about an effortless summer makeup look – with a bronzing gel, bronze blush, eye glace and red lip completing the look. I will attempt same and, if in doubt, don big sunglasses and wide-brimmed hat to cover up my lack of Euro chic. Available at David Jones stores.

3. Napoleon Perdis Minimalips in Sleek $29 (available July 6): Mark your calendars lipstick lovers, this is one lip product you want to try if you’re more a fan of a subtle lip colour but are looking for something more than a gloss. It’s balm/lipstick/gloss hybrid that provides a sheer and natural finish while conditioning your lips all day long, thanks to Cotton Seed and Linseed Oils, Vitamin E and Bidens Pilosa Extract. This shade is a subtle pink. Minimalips will also be available in a peach nude or nude if that’s more your au naturale lip colour style. (Paraben free)

4. Briese Botanticals Eye Rescue Serum $68.60: This serum, which gives the eye area the does of daily TLC it needs, is part of a new skincare range launched this month by a Queensland woman who was driven to find skincare products that were helpful to her newly sensitive skin following a major accident in 2005. That drive lead her to work with Australian botanicals, botanicals that indigenous Australians have long harnessed for their heeling powers. A proportion of our profits directly to SevGen Indigenous Corporation. That’s a whole lot of goodness going on right there. The eye serum pictured is scented with rose water and contains emu apple, quandong and arnica extracts, as well as aloe vera juice, hyaluronic acid and panthenol. You can apply this under or over makeup. It’s coming on board this weekend’s long-haul flight with me! (Cruelty-free, vegan, sustainable, paraben and sulphates free)

5. Essie Nail Lacquer in Jiggle Hi, Jiggle Low $16.95: Even if your legs are in hibernation for the winter, no need to send your nails into a cave too. I’m always saying yes to a bit of shimmer and glitz and Jiggle Hi, Jiggle Low from the limited edition Essie winter collection is a perfect mix of molten gold for your nails. If you haven’t tried Essie of late, the formula has been given a makeover. It’s more creamy and faster drying. The brush is also thicker and more user-friendly for a smooth application.

  5. I’m going to be all over that Minimalips or should I say that Minimalips is going to be all over me, or my lips at any rate. I love all all-in-one and my lips really don’t like winter. I love that Essie colour too. I always try to give my nails a bit of rest from colour in winter but that looks too golidilcious to resist!
