The Model and Me: iAllure kaftans

How was your weekend? I hope you got a chance to relax.

I most certainly did. I did a little spring organisation at home and a lot of just hanging out with my family.

I do miss those simple things when I’m travelling. Coming home is about re-grouping and just being.

And I don’t mind if that “being” includes a sneaky cocktail or too.

That golden hour – when the sun is low in the sky and the edge of the heat has disappeared but it’s balmy enough to be poolside – is the time I like to “play resorts”.

Who says you have to be on holidays to do that?

Not me, that’s for sure.

I love creating an occasion. And nothing says “resort” like a working back that cocktail with a kaftan.

I’ve talked Camilla kaftans here recently but today I want to talk about a more affordable Australian-designed and made kaftan label, iAllure.

Christie-Ann – the designer behind iAllure – wanted to create a kaftan label that could bring simplicity and versatility to a travel wardrobe. iAllure kaftans can be worn over swimwear or over a slip and the designs are flattering thanks to a plunging v-neck and draping fit.

iAllure has some amazing colourful designs but I’ve chosen today to feature a gorgeous monochrome print.

This is a soft, polyester chiffon kaftan designed to suit sizes 8-16.  It’s easy care (I pop mine in a lingerie bag and in the machine).

I’m 166cm tall and wearing the 93cm short version but it also comes in 80cm mini version if that would better suit your height. This print is also available as a cape.

This kaftan also includes a waist tie – there are holes in the side underneath the sleeves. It’s something that doesn’t work so well with my short waist but I know it works for others, particularly if they’re wanting to define more shape with a kaftan piece.

The Holster sandals are perfect for poolside – at home or away. A little bit of bling always goes a long way in my books.

Who’s up for playing resorts next weekend?

  1. Nothing like a Kaftan for easy glamour; and they are so cool when the weather heats up. I love my Camilla’s but these are a great everyday option (I couldn’t wear the tie either, it would end up under my armpits – handy for those that can though). Also love the Holsters, due a new pair, these could be the ticket…loving the sunnies too x

  2. This looks lovely on you Nikki. I bought a bright kaftany top last summer which is kaftan length on me! But I have yet to wear it…maybe I need a less-loud monochrome one… happy resort playing xx

  3. I love that kaftan! Monochrome – what’s not to love? Perhaps this could be the perfect Christmas day outfit. It’s on the list!

  4. I love this. You’ve inspired me to make a couple of kaftan purchases in the past 12 months Nikki. Will definitely have to check out iAllure. Thanks for the tip.

  5. Just stunning! I could see my mum in this because she is the monochrome queen and recently bought a colourful Kaftan last week to wear on Christmas Day. If she buys this I may be able to borrow it!! 🙂 love this on you Nikki and your tan is lovely.

  6. Beautiful Nikki, the kaftan looks way better on you. I wouldn’t have looked twice just seeing it on the model. Looks way more wearable the way you have styled it. Loving the sandals too. Kathryn 🙂

      1. You will never guess! My Mum who is 83 said to me ‘Oh I’ve got this thing your father bought me at Eumundi Markets, I will never wear it’. White with white embroidery, and perfect. I had to wash the mothball smell out of it, oh yes my Mum and camphor haha! Still brand new, they got it last year and Mum has never even tried it on, And I got a cheapie at KMart which is okay. I might splash out on a really nice one to wear at home over Xmas. My suitcase if full of new clothing 🙂 x

  7. lovely for playing resorts nikki! … you look great! … one of the nicest patterned kaftans I’ve seen and it’s a good length … very flattering!
also loving those beaded holsters! … have a good day, love m:)X
