Everyday style outfits of the week

How did your week of everyday style go?

Did you find some things in your wardrobe you’d completely forgotten about?

Shopped and found a little something, something for a pre-Christmas gathering?

Me? I’ve managed to wear the same pair of black Mela Purdie pants for three of the seven days.

I can’t help it. I love them.

So, it’s no surprise that the outfit I most loved wearing this week involved said black pants.

They took me on a date night last Saturday night and were fabulous travel companions to Sydney overnight on Wednesday.

I may not be able to pack lightly for longer trips away but for two days and one night, I can work a travel capsule wardrobe like nobody’s business.

Outfits of the week

Each week I share some of the great #everydaystyle photos you have posted. It’s not about a best-dressed competition. More about sharing the diversity of style out there with the aim of helping to inspire us all.

Style blog roll

Not everyone who’s joining in with #everydaystyle has a style blog – or any blog – but each week, I’d like to introduce you to a couple who do. You may be able to identify your style with them. You may connect with their lifestyle, their age, their shape or where they live.

Each woman may inspire you to stretch outside your style comfort zone a little. If that’s the case, subscribe to their blogs, follow them on Facebook or Instagram and show them the love. They’re worth it.

Mama Stylista: Deauvanne is Sydney-based stylist, presenter and blogger who brings a sophisticated London edge to her style … I love that she didn’t lock away her heels when she became a mum.

Baubles, Bubbles and BagsNorlin is a Melbourne-based stylist and blogger who admits to being a fashion and beauty junkie. I love that she has an eye for finding clothes that don’t break the budget but make her look a million bucks.

Deauvanne, Norlin and Jo (iCurvy, featured last week) were models for my forthcoming book, to be published by Hachette Australia in August 2014. Here were all are, Sex And The City-style, on the cover.

  1. I was just catching up on the goss and was like, HEY there’s me! Thank you for the mention. Loving checking out the #everydaystyle hashtag to get some ideas from other suffering in this heat! Makes a nice change from US & UK plus bloggers who are frozen. Haha.

  2. Brilliant Nikki. Can’t wait to buy the book. What an amazing year you’ve had and it’s only gonna get better when you move to Brissie!! And the outfit for your date – love it. Again.

  5. I’ve enjoyed following the Everyday Style photos on Instagram. I love seeing what other people wear and I think magazines should show a bit more of this and a little less of what the celebs are wearing. I’m still considering what to wear on Christmas Day, we have a forecast temp of 40 and I have a tendency to spill food down my top………

  6. Nikki I love your updated picture on the cover page. Thanks so much for continuing to inspire and motivate me in regards to fashion. You are one amazing woman. Can’t wait for the book and hopefully a book tour so I can get a signed copy. Can’t wait to see everyone’s Christmas style.

    1. Thanks Linda … it was taken by my book’s photographer. Got to love studio lighting plus pro hair and makeup! And thanks for your lovely words, I’ll be hoping to get around to as many places as possible – even if it takes me six months!
