Oh. My. Everyone who had ever been to Fashion Week told me how tiring it could be.
It wasn’t that I didn’t believe them. It’s just that I could not have imagined the level of tiredness.
To give me the little boost I need to make it through till tomorrow I’ve brought out the bling big guns … a new necklace that designer Salita Matthews created especially for me to wear this week.
She’d cottoned on to my obsession with orange and I must say, I feel more than a little bit special wearing this piece.
What about the rest of the outfit, you ask?
Well, yes … there’s more orange in the form of my Gorman shoes I blogged about here. The I’ve kept it all neutral around the necklace and I’ve pulled on my new teal NYDJs.
Oh, and I need to talk about my makeup today. I’ve been playing around with the yet-to-be-released Maybelline NY Dream Nude Airfoam Foundation ($22.95 and out in July). It feels a bit weird pressing the applicator and having it come out like hair mousse but I watched makeup artist Nigel Stanislaus in action with it last night before the Ode to No One Show and once your rub your hands together and pat it on your face, works magically to create a light, fresh foundation look that feels incredible on your face and gives a flawless finish.
Do you use a little bling and some foundation to give yourself a lift when needed?
PS. I’m also blogging over at The Hoopla today. In a quiet five minutes at Fashion Week (LOL – there is no such thing!), I grilled Maybelline NY’s Nigel Stanislaus for his 5 makeup and beauty tips for super busy women. I’m taking them all on board!
Thanks to Maybelline NY Australia, I’m blogging at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia all week. Come back each day for my take on what we’ll be wearing – on our face and ourselves – next spring-summer.
