Oh, it’s been difficult to jump back into the work saddle after a few days’ break but jump back I have. Sort of in a side saddle position though …
It’s school holidays here in Queensland and that means that one minute I can be down the park or the beach with my six-year-old, the next driving one teenager to a party and the next driving the other teenager to work. And between all that, pounding the keyboard at my computer.
Even though the nights have cooled down to lovely to snuggle-under-the-doona temperatures, the days have still been gorgeously sunny and warm.
When I’m doing the whole work-from-home-while-juggling-the-kids thing, I need clothes that can juggle with me.
I need to feel comfortable but presentable should someone arrive at the door or I get spotted while out doing a drop off or pick up.
And yes, I’ll pop on a bit of makeup in the morning too for the exact same reason. Here’s a look at yesterday’s work-from-home makeup on Instagram to give you an idea. I’m actually a bit embarrassed that it took nine products to make me look fresh and natural 😉
In the look below, my hero product is this Jane Iredale Rose Dawn bronzer, from the new Feeling Alive! collection:
I love that this product when swished together with a blusher brush gives me a pinky/earthy glow but I also love that I can use these colours as eye colours, should I ever feel the need to *consolidate* what I take away for me on a trip or night away (I know several people are laughing right now at the thought I would consolidate anything beauty related but it’s nice to know the option is there 😉 ).
Back to the outfit … it’s probably no surprise that my “condom” dresses have become very much loved and on high rotation in my wardrobe. I now have two: black as featured below and camel marle (featured here).
As the dozens (hundreds?) of people who now own one know, they are incredibly comfortable to wear. Possibly more comfortable – yet infinitely more stylish – than an old pair of tracky dacks.

Nikki  what is your thought on printed pants??i have a few pairs that i wear at home with plain tops ,i have one pair on today ,a muted python print,sort of latte and black and i have a black tee on with it,i can’t decide if i love them or hate them,they are comfy and good for what i did today, housework,but are they nice on normal people do you think,orjust celebs and models or just tared up tracky dacks or pj pants,would love to know what YOU think.
Went on a semi camping trip over easter…. the charcoal marl condom dress and the garnier BB creme were life savers…. thanks Nikki 🙂

I’m in work mode today but thought you might like to know that I am wearing a jacket that I bought from Sussans …. only went to Sussans on that particular day to get the watermelon coloured jacket you wear with the Verily Maxi that was on sale… but walked out of there with something from their new range (not on sale).Â

Haven’t got the ‘condom’ dress from Seed but have ordered the 3/4 sleeve maxi from Virtu! Recently bought 2 jackets from them as well, which I love love love – especially the flash of leopard lining I’m sporting inside my black jacket today (which matches my peep toe shoes perfectly LOL).Â

Nkkii as usual I love your at home outfits, actually all your outfits ,i have ordered a “condom” dress from Seed and my email told me yesterday it was on it’sway ,so here’shoping it comes today and i can try it on with all my tops i FOUND in my wardrobe on the weekend ,and my new scarves etc ,i got black and i will see how it goes and if i am in luvre I will get another.
I opted for the leginggs and Sussan high low top i bought last year because i am still confined to the house because of my skin issues, i was good today no makeup on at all,only mascara and  brow powder,and lip gloss, so i can get it fixed quickly,talking of makeup,i have a smashbox blush like the one in your pics I think it’s called soft fusion lights  or something like that but it has this handy little section for eyes as well and they all tone perfectly together pinks and nudes and a brown colour ,i must look for another blush like that i love it.Tis a bit cool in sydney today and yesterday too,so i am pleased I tackeled my cardi’s and knits on the weekend,love new seasons so you can wear something different ,Dont you ??Â

Hi Nikki, I would love to look as stylish as you do in this photo out, let alone “at home” 🙂 Question about converted condom dress: Can I layer it enough to cope with Canberra winter? it is suddenly freezing here and a soft floaty top, or even cotton cardy and open toed shoes is not going to cut it for the next 6 months!!!! Any warm layering suggestions?
You can put a long-sleeve tee underneath plus a layered knit and cape or jacket on top. I’m going to wear mine with ankle boots when it cools down – tights are probably a must for you.
I love these colours together. My hair has been tied back for 1 1/2 weeks, same as the length of the school holidays so far. My arm party is still going too. It might distract people from my hair. Rachel x
