It’s no secret that I’m a sucker for a red carpet gawk. The frocks. The hair. The makeup. So much glamour rolled up into a bite-sized parcel that we normal folk can sit and watch while having a cup of tea in our pyjs.
Last night it was Australian TV’s night of nights. And if red carpets could talk and swap stories, I’d think they would have given this Aussie one the thumbs up.
Here’s a quick run down of the seven people who got the Styling You red carpet tick of approval … because, you know, I’m sure that’s what these celebs were hanging out for 😉
1. Carrie Bickmore
Love this girl’s style any night on The Project. I’m always secretly checking out her earrings. Just quietly these are stunners too. And the dress. WOW. Love the red. Very Wonder Woman with the gold belt. It’s by Bowie. She was supposed to wear Tony Bianco shoes but an injury to her foot while on holidays that caused her to need 15 stitches in her big toe meant a quick change of plans … off to her nearest Kmart she went and picked up a pair that could accommodate said toe. For $15. Winning.
2. Asher Keddie
In my style book, Ms Keddie can do no wrong. None at all. This J’Aton frock would not have allowed her to consume much dinner, I’m thinking, but gee it cuts a stunning shape. What I LOVE about this choice is that Asher has chosen something different. She hasn’t travelled down the same red carpet path as so many do. It’s fresh and the neckline is exquisite. One of my Facebook followers was a little concerned, however, about the pattern, likening it to “some sort of gynaecological roadmap”. I’ll leave that one well alone.
3. Chrissie Swan
Chrissie floats my boat – and has done so since her stint on Big Brother and time on Hot 91 (a local station where I live here on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland). I miss her on The Circle but I LOVE that she made a work/life/family decision that would make her juggle easier for her. Last night she rocked it in her own dress from Smith & Rose Frockmakers. It looks purple in this photo but it’s actually navy, according to the designers. Navy, purple, I care not. She’s frickin gorgeous … and that cocktail ring! Yes please. (Update: just discovered the ring was by one of my fave jewellery designers, Chelsea de Luca)
4 & 5. Hamish Blake and Zoe Foster
Cutest couple in the universe award? I love that they look so damn happy. And in love. You can’t buy that glow in a bottle, despite Zoe probably being able to show us how we could 😉
6. Katrina Chambers
Now, you all know that Katrina is the designer of this here blog’s new design, don’t you? Did you also know she was on The Block last year with her sister, Amy? And that The Block won a Logie last night? Well, now you do. And before the Logie made it to their table, she managed to snare this photo that will have teenage girls the world over sending her hate mail! Leave it to a blogger in the room to get the best sneaky photos.

I loved that Carrie wore Kmart shoes! I cannot stand Chrissy, for so many reasons, and I have no idea why Hamish won gold!
Fab post Nikki. I’m the same as you – I prefer to embrace the positive and only list who I considered to be best dressed on my blog. No worst dressed lists for this little bunny rabbit. There were so many beautiful gowns this year, it was great to see. xx
Love this post Nikki. So much of the Logies reporting was negative – my tweets included – but I ADORED the red carpet.
I loved Carrie, Chrissie, Kat Stewart, Shelley Craft, Ashleigh Brewer and Sigrid Thornton.
I avoid having a go at what people are wearing. Not my style. I prefer to celebrate the ones that I like – which I’m totally ok with people not agreeing with – it’s such a subjective thing.Â

Some really amazing Australian women here – and not just because they are fabulously dressed! Another we loved last night was Shelly Craft – she certainly made her baby bump look stylish!

Asher can do no wrong! I really loved Samara Weaving’s gothic black lace, she looked incredible!!
She can’t! Samara’s was a little bit too goth for me but totally get why so many loved it!

My granddaughter (15)- Â ONE Direction focussed since before the boys arrived, and chased them about Sydney before seeing them last Friday, is STOKED that Grandma knows a blogger who got a photo with them. My claim to fame, thanks to Katrina!!Â

He’s too cute, isn’t he. Humble and Funny. Zoe’s a very lucky girl. Loved how in his speech he thanked her for being his rock and best friend.
I also loved Asher Keddie’s dress,it was gorgeous ,and as you say stunning and different I Â love how that girl rocks a totally out there frock ,she seems not far fromher character Nina in the fashion stakes ,I Â also think Kate Richie’s dress was lovely too,gee she as shiny hair I wonder where you get that from .I loved Carrie Bickmores red dress too ,Delta Goodrem looked beautiful in that yellow number as well.
I am glad I’m not famous as i don’t know how i would choose a dress for the logies or any other occasion ,it must be too hard they if your lukcy everyone wants you to wear their dress and i suppose it must make things much much easier.
I love people watching as most of us do ,how long would it take you to get that beautiful Mmm I wonder!!!!!!!

Kate’s was actually an inky navy colour … which in my books made it even more divine!
I didn’t really see much of the coverage and really only saw a glimpse of it and just thought it was black. I just googled it and yes, it is even more stunning in the ink navy. I love it!Â
I thought Katie Richie looked stunning too but she doesn’t seem to get much of a mention in the media. Â What a shame I’d wear that dress in a heartbeat! Â Oh but I thought it was navy, lol
