Online shopping find: French Chic Fashion

Nikki ParkinsonFashion Leave a Comment

My weekly online shopping store profiles are back for 2012. And we’re kicking off the year with a gorgeous Brisbane-based online store that is oh, so French. Remember these dresses I featured earlier in the week? Well, the last one is from this store. I love that it has a French flavour that works so well with our Australian summer climate. Got to be the next best thing to actually shopping in Paris, right?

What do you sell?

Exclusively affordable high-quality French labels for women and children.

How did the idea for your store come about?

As a French woman arrived in Australia five years ago, I found really hard to shop online for good quality clothes that also look great. Moreover, most French womenswear brands are in short supply in Australia or even not available on the local market. I simply thought that it would be a good idea to have an Australian online store dedicated to brands I know and love, giving the opportunity to anyone in Australia to discover affordable French fashion goods and add new looks to their wardrobe.

What is your career background?

I haven’t got a fashion background but I’ve always been interested in fashion, probably because I’m French. I like clothes; nice high quality fabrics/products. I am at a turn in my career and I think it was the right time in my life to challenge myself and build my own business which I always dreamed of.

Who is your key customer?

Women of all ages and styles who want to bring new trends in their look and like affordable quality clothes for them, and their children.

How do you make it easy for your online customers to buy from you?

The website is really user-friendly and I make it as simple as possible so anyone can shop. It’s also secure with Paypal payment options or direct deposit with free shipping on orders over $200. Customers can also always contact me by email, phone or on Facebook if they have any questions.

Do you sell in person or in a physical store as well?

Not yet but I will be exhibiting at the Brisbane French Festival this July which is a great opportunity for everyone to have a closer look at the brands and products I have.

List your current most popular products?

The stripy blue top from Chipie Women as well as the Rosana dress were a real success for a casual look this summer. The red tunic by One Step and the silky top from Charlie Joe are the high-ranged price best sellers. Finally the pink set short+blouse by La Queue du Chat is the must-have for all the little girls and it is 100% organic cotton.

What’s next for your online store?

I’m adding some new brands that will arrive later this year (Chemins Blancs, Little Marcel). I hope to keep expanding with more products available for my clients, such as jackets. But the next real step for my online store is also to bring in accessories, scarves, bags, in the near future and maybe later small jewels and French cosmetics.
