What your best friend really wants for Christmas

Nikki Parkinson Beauty, Fashion 31 Comments

Girlfriends really do make the world go round. Well mine do. They rock. I get asked a lot about who I consider to be style icons and I will always say, my girlfriends.

Each owns her own style. They are never shy to glam up and they know just the right way to glam down too.

I love that I have a girlfriend whose only flat shoes in her wardrobe are her Havaianas thongs. I love that I have a girlfriend who looks incredibly chic in a turban. I love that I have a girlfriend who is rarely seen in anything but black but when she does she wows us with red. I love that I have a girlfriend who’s not afraid to go from blonde to brunette and back again. And I love that I have a girlfriend who always looks effortlessly chic, kaftan-style.

Most of all, I love that each of my girlfriends loves a chat, loves a party … and loves a champagne.

Merry Christmas to all the wonderful best-girlfriends out there.

Here’s what I’d love to bundle up and send you for Christmas:

  1. Don’t need two guesses about who your red & black friend might be. Very honoured to be included in your besties list.

If money was no object, I would be buying us all a group trip to New York!

    Love you xx

  2. My BFF has been a single gal for the longest time & she was buying gifts for both me & hubby while we only had to buy for her. So a few years back we decided to forgo gifts in exchange for a dining experience. Now every year at Xmas the 3 of us (my hubby inc) treat ourselves to a meal at a nicer restaurant than a typical date night, usually one my bestie has never tried. We’ve never looked back. We get to try somewhere new, enjoy a great night out & more importantly a guaranteed catch-up & quality face-to-face time with my bff in the pre-Christmas rush.

  4. wow…would be lovely to be on the receiving end of those presents. I have bought for two girlfriends…one is getting earrings that match a necklace she has and the other scented tea lights and a divine holder, and will be sharing bubbles with them too!

  5. I will definitely be buying my bestie a corded phone. Not cordless, but one with a cord. Everytime I call her she never answers because she has forgotten where she last left the handset and it has gone flat! Also love the Abba Wii game – there’s nothing more fun than a big singing contest with your friends. Although last time I played one of these, my husband, who is the worst singer in the world, won!

Oh, that’s so funny Jenny! I bet you’d be able to find a great “retro” one. And re the wii singing, what’s with that? Maybe it just sounds more like the accent on the program when we sing out of tune?!

  6. I am putting together a box style gifts for girlfriends. One is pregnant and due in February so I have for her: cranberry nail polish, elmo wipes, mini johnsons baby pack, chrissy t-towel and taking her to Ella Bache for a manicure/pedicure.
No2 bestie: “Every thing is going to be OK” by Chronicle Books, candy pink nail polish, chrissy t-towel and deciding on the next item..can’t put my finger on it yet…searching. 🙂
    I love it here..

  8. Love the ABBA dance Wii game! Santa is bringing a Wii for my girls this Christamas, and that will definitely be under the tree. My 5 nearly 6 year old loves ABBA and so does her mum, so it will be a not so pretty dance off! Thanks for the gift ideas, I would love to be the recipient of any of those.
