Is it really Monday morning? How did I get here? And where did the last four days go?
My email inbox is looking like a nightmare challenge this morning so I thought I’d take you through my trip to Melbourne and back home again in pictures. Pictures of style.
(For bloggers reading, I’ll have more about what I learned at the ProBlogger Training Day in my regular Saturday blogging post this week.)
First stop: Afternoon tea with the PR team at L’Oreal headquarters. Mrs Woog and Eden puckered up first.
St Murphy organised accommodation for himself and his four “housewives”. In return I re-gifted him a coconut bikini top, gifted to me from the lovely people at Le Tan.
Pre-event drinks at Campari House with super stylish Carly Jacobs (Smaggle) and Bree Lawson (The Blog Stylist).
Conference day: with Madam Bipolar and Eden. We all wore Uberkate necklaces from the stunning new bead collection and felt quite spesh. Thanks very much.
Best blog marketing I’ve seen at a blogging conference. Danimezza made social media buttons and attached to her business card. Genius.
This girl not surprisingly gives good hair: Christina from Hair Romance
I rehydrated like a model with Kokomo coconut water.
Cheryl from Business Chic proved she’s as stylish as the business people she photographs for her blog.
On the way to dinner we stopped off in David Jones to soak up the Spring Carnival fashion atmosphere that Melbourne just gets so right.
… not so sure about gold sequinned Uggs as a Spring Carnival footwear option though?
I came back home to Queensland early because there was a champagne glass with my name on it.
Fell in love with this necklace (Peter Lang at Eve Boutique) …
… and this one from Salita Matthews …
… and these Jeffrey Campbell heels styled with beaded anklets.
I’d love to tell you that I’m all styled up again today. But I’d be lying. Today, I’ll be makeup-free, doing the school run in my Havaianas and spending quality time in front of my computer. And thus, fashion and nature balances itself.
What did you get up to this weekend? See a fashion style you’d like to try yourself?

Great shots…and finally, you and Carly meet. YAY!
Oh, and now it’s time for you and I to meet!
Author
Definitely! I will make it happen next year!
Brilliant pics Nikki, just brilliant. So excited that the coconut bikini is making a comeback – ON MEN!
xoxoxo

No-one. I mean no-one can rock a coconut bikini like you 😉
Jealous but happy jealous that you had such a lovely time. Love the photos.

There will be a next time, Penny x I missed you.
Man, I love that photo. I’m so manic with happiness at hanging out with you finally!
Author
Haha, and it was just the start! Loved hanging with you my friend x
Is that the Sacha Drake Kaftan dress your wearing for pre-event cocktails? What is that gorgeous necklace you are wearing with it?
Author
It’s my Sacha Drake kaftan dress from last year and my necklace is by designer girlfriend Salita Matthews (www.salitamatthews.com).
I gather the Uberkate bead range is brand spanking new? Couldn’t spot it on the web page yet. Looks great on all of you! Am keen to check it out
Author
Well spotted – yes, so far Kate has been selling them from the Uberkate Facebook page as a bit of a market tester. http://www.facebook.com/uberkate
You wore your Verily dress! Looks like you had a great time.

I did, Leonie! Felt fabulously QLD all day. Thank-you.
Those shoes are awesome, and as I commented on instagram – I think that necklace needs a home in Perth. The Queen is coming and I need to be prepared!
After several crazy weeks I spent the weekend at home which may or may not have involved lounging in Qantas PJs whilst ranting about sharks….
Author
I think if there were ever a shopping justification it would be an impending visit from the Queen 😉 and I really would relish a weekend at home in my pjs, with or without shark ranting!
HOT pics! Love the champagne glass with your name on it… Covered in hearts too! So good to see you in Melbourne, Nikki.

Lina, it was so lovely to see you (and sit next to you) too! I’m very much a “heart” girl. I have a lot of jewellery featuring hearts and loved arriving at my girlfriend’s birthday party to see this – everyone had their own names on their glasses.
It was so lovely to finally meet you Nikki!
I hope you got those necklaces and I heart your friend’s shoes!
Author
I know! It was like meeting an old friend, though 😉 The necklaces (apart from the ones on me) belong to girlfriends. I may call on them to borrow!
Oh wow, I think I’ve just fallen in “shoe lust” – those Jeffrey Campbell’s are amazing! It was so lovely to meet you (briefly) at the Problogger event Nikki, hope you had a fantastic time. You were most certainly rocking that necklace! Rach xx
Author
Rach … next time we need more time! You looked stunning and I don’t even have a photo to show it 😉
I love a post telling a story in pictures! Oh and I LOVE those shoes too!
Author
I was looking at all the photos on my phone from over the weekend and realised that they did tell a story – wasn’t my average weekend! And yes … those shoes …
THOSE SHOES! THOSE SHOES! (Yes, I know, it’s been said before, but they really are amazing).
My weekend was about thongs, paddle pools and just hanging at home for once. I love this time of year.
Oh, I mean thongs as in those worn on my feet. ‘Thongs and paddle pools’ could conjure up the wrong (and very weird) impression. And now I will go and have a much needed coffee…
Author
I now have my coffee but it has spurted out my mouth with that comment 😉
Wow! You really know how to pick a great pair of shoes, Nikki. Love, love! 🙂
Not so sure about those uggies either!! Heheh!
Author
They’re not my shoes – my girlfriend’s. I do know a good shoe look when I see it though 😉
Those shoes! Those shoes! Love them.
I tried colour blocking, and I liked it.
And I bought some clothes from Nordstrom. Love.
Author
I loved your colour blocking, Chantelle. This is seriously the first season I’ve embraced colour. I’m a different person.
Hi Nikki
love the colour blocking, we have embraced and loving it!
Author
Makes me feel all sunny wearing bright colours. Can’t believe it’s taken me so long to embrace!
Those Jeffery Campbells are OMG!!!
Nikki, so great to see you at pbevent and thank you for our cute happy shiny people snap- LOVE! May I also use and link up on my upcoming (ie drafted in my head) pbevent post?
Author
I know! They were amazing. I loved how my girlfriend wore them with matching anklets so that it just looked like they were part of the shoe design.
And shiny, happy people unite! Use away x
