I love how the blogging world brings the world to your door – literally. This week I’m taking part for the first time in Friend Friday – a link up of fashion and beauty blogs from around the world organised by Katy from Modly Chic, a US blogger. (If you’re interested in taking part in this group, check out this brilliant how-to from Grit & Glamour, another fab US-based blogger)
In a nutshell, a topic is set for bloggers to write about for that Friday, we all link up and share our thoughts on those topics.
This week it’s all about beauty products – and particularly our faves. Yes, I stumbled on a goody for my first post.
1. What’s your favourite drug store (pharmacy) makeup product and your favourite higher-end product?
My low-end makeup product is the Lanolips range of lip balms – Australian-made natural formulations that feel fabulous on your lips. Not a sticky glass encounter in sight!
My favourite high-end product is Jane Iredale PurePressed Base – it’s my go-to foundation that enables me to create a flawless face in seconds.

Jane Iredale Limited Edition Graphite Refillable Compact with Swarovski Crystal $45 with PurePressed Base $83 – for touch-ups in style (this is available in Australia in April/May for Mother’s Day)
2. Is there one type of product that is your go-to, can’t live without?
Concealer – definitely. Ever since having my first child so many years ago, those dark under eyes have persisted! If I always have a great concealer on hand then my makeup look is a cinch. I love Smashbox’s High Definition, which I wear over Photo Op Under Eye Brightener.
3. What’s the best hair product you’ve ever used?
It’s not a product – it’s a salon treatment that I’ve been back twice for – Kerastase Paris Chronologiste – it’s like having a facial on your hair, a hairacial!
4. Fess up, what’s the worst beauty look you’ve tried to rock and look back at now with a little shame or apprehension that you actually did
that?
That’s so easy – I rocked my one and only perm at the age of 17. As they say, a picture tells a 100o words:
5. When it comes to beauty products, we all use the same basic products. What do you use that helps show off your personal flare and
personality?
That changes thanks to constantly trying new products. Lately I’ve been obsessed with a pink lip and a pink glow, which really came out of left field as I’m not a girly girl. It’s a statement without being too out there.
Let me know what makeup product you can’t live without?

Love my Rimmel concealer and highlighter in Ivory 010. If I must have anything it’s this – quickly backed up by my shu uemera eyelash curler and senegence lashsense mascara in black! If someone mentions me looking like death warmed up I simply brush on some NARS orgasm blush and my fave napoleon perdis eye pencil or pop some colour on my lips! I saw in your September favourites you had the Australis show stopper gloss stick which I coincidentally picked up yesterday (in fairy floss, but now I want all the colours eek!) and LOVE this item for some pink lips.
Love your blog and this is such an awesome idea!!
Thanks so much Dustyn and thanks for your tips!
Love these. I am crazy about the mary kay concealer but would love to try that smashbox brightener you mentioned.
Your blowout looks great by the way.
Thanks for visiting my blog the other day.

Hi Daphne, just found your comment in the spam queue – fished it out – thanks so much for stopping by – and yes, do try the Smashbox under-eye op!
Hmmmmm… probably my foundation Estee Lauder Double Wear and black eyeliner.
On your recommendation I have just ordered the Benefit one. I will hunt you down if it doesn’t work.

Hope it does too! 😉
Nice to “meet” you too! YAY Smashbox! I never used their products until a coworker of mine was giving away some of her make up that she had but never used. I feel in love with their stuff as soon as I used it lol. I love the different colors of lip gloss.

I know, the colour range is fab.
My most favourite make-up product that I absolutely CANNOT live without would be the smashbox brow tech. Whenever I don’t put that on I actually feel naked! Thanks for sharing btw. GREAT linky! 🙂
It is a great linky, Norlin – it’s my first week but the group is quite incredible – you should join up!
I must try some lanolips, as I do strongly believe a girl can never have enough lip gloss.
The benefit playstick foundation is my must have as it is so transportable, the only one to never have broken in my handbag.
