On Thursday I flew to Sydney for the day. A very long day. It started in the dark at 4am and ended when I pulled into the driveway at 11pm that night.
Don’t feel sorry for me. I had a ball.
As I sat on the plane ready to fly back north, I couldn’t help but smile. I’d just had one of the best work days ever: I attended two media product launches (one featured Australian fashion designer icon Alex Perry; at the other they gifted us cameras), lunched with a blogging friend and then dined with new Styling You sponsors.
Three years ago if someone had told me that that was what a day of my work could look like, I’d have stared at them in utter disbelief.
I love that this little blog, which I started in 2008 because I wanted to continue writing when I left my job as a journalist, has grown to become not only a huge part of my business but also a link to incredible people doing amazing things in Australia and around the world.
I’m so grateful to be part of this big, wide Bloggerverse, where the sense of community and support out classes any I’ve ever come across.
And that Bloggerverse is going to get a whole lot more exciting – and influential – after next month’s inaugural Aussie Bloggers Conference in Sydney.[Fashion note: this is my outfit that got me through the long day (I did swap to flats between the morning and afternoon launches) but I felt appropriately glam and comfortable all day.]
