This week I’m grateful* for … new clothes

It’s usually about this time of year that I lose all inspiration in my wardrobe.  Yes, me.  The one who’s supposed to be advising others on what to wear.  I blame the unrelenting heat.  I blame myself for dagging out throughout January under the guise of school holidays. I blame the retailers who have already *excitedly* switched to autumn-winter fashion mode.  I blame my budget being busted by back-to-school costs.

So this week, when a parcel of gorgeous new clothes from one of my favourite designers, Tulipani, arrived on my doorstep, I may have squealed. Oh, ok, I did squeal.  And jump up and down.

I’m so grateful for the gift of these two dresses.  They not only extend my late-summer wardrobe but have been perfect easy-care and easy-wear garments this week when it’s been so sticky that it’s felt like I’ve been sitting in a pool of sweat 24/7 (sorry for that really gross visual).

And my second dose of gratitude actually comes from via one of my Styling You members, Rachel.

“Good customer service is really hit and miss (I find) but this is such a good story I wanted you to know.  I had a beautiful Witchery dress on lay-by, from mid November which I forgot about over the Xmas break as I’ve been travelling overseas to Asia and the States.  When I got back from our holiday I had a reminder note in the post box.  Ursula (from Witchery Noosa) wrote:  “Hi Rachel, just a reminder about your lay-by but also wanted you to know that the dress has been reduced from $169.95 to $99.95 and we would be happy to give it to you for the sale price.  Look forward to seeing you in-store soon.”  I was blown away – this would never normally happen!! (not to me anyway) .  The girls at Witchery (Ursula and team) have always given me the best customer service and I would be happy if you wanted to share this story.  I think they deserve some free publicity.”

I think they do, too, Rachel.   Thanks for sharing. New clothes and great customer service … now there’s a combo that should be bottled.

PS.  Witchery currently has 25% off storewide and 30% off if you purchase over $250 (very handy if you need to buy a new bag or pair of boots).

Witchery Libby Satchel $269.95. www.witchery.com.au

  3. My Country Road catalogue arrived the other day and I couldn’t even bring myself to open it. Felt sweaty just looking at it! BTW where is your necklace from? It’s stunning.

  4. I love new clothes, and feel the same this time of year. I can barley think about looking at the winter clothes as I sweat it out in the heat.

Those two dresses look great on you by the way… I love the striped one. I’m a sucker for stripes!

  5. The dresses look great on you and from the QLD-like weather we’re experiencing here in Melbourne at the moment they’d come in handy here too! Love this story from Witchery- that really is a level of customer service unheard of these days (unfortunately).
    Great blog Nikki x

Thanks Sally and it is lovely to hear a great customer service story. There are lots of wonderful sales assistants and managers out there but often they are not heard above the complaints about others.
