The Model and Me: SpencerLacy Summer 2010

A strange thing happened on the weekend.  It was December.  I was wearing long pants.  Now if you live elsewhere in Australia or overseas, you’re probably scratching your head right now.

You see, I live in Queensland.  Always have.  Someone has forgotten to remind the weather gods that it is hot and very sticky at this time of year.  So hot and sticky that we start complaining loudly about it and run for the nearest beach or airconditioned shopping centre.

Instead, we’re complaining that it’s NOT summer even though the calendar says it should be so.

Me, I’m enjoying the fact I can still cosy up on the lounge on a Sunday afternoon with a pot of tea, relaxing while reading the papers in my lounge pants. (Oh, ok, you got me … this is my DREAM Sunday afternoon. However, filling the fridge and getting organised for the week ahead usually takes precedence over lounging around.)

But I do love my lounge pants and these ones from Australian label SpencerLacy are ones you could really wear outside the house.  They’re labelled harem pants.  I was concerned as some harem pants can look like “poo catchers”. These don’t. They fit beautifully and the modal fabric skims and drapes in the right places. I like the elasticated ankles – looks better with pumps or ballet flats that my wide-legged lounge pants.

Here’s the photo of a model wearing them:

And here is me:

I teamed the SpencerLacy harem pants and top with a Metalicus sleeveless vest; Lydia Jewels "Nikki" necklace; The Little Shoebox nude platform shoes

  1. What a great idea, glamourous lounge wear – it looks super stylish and comfy!

I’m jumping on the website now to purchase, early christmas present for myself 🙂

Can’t wait to luxuriate around my house in something appropriate to duck to the shops in or have a surprise visit from a friend in.
