Welcome to your Fabulous Friday style tip … something on the video to think about before the weekend. This week I’m talking about what’s appropriate – and comfortable – to wear to a concert. Or more specifically, what do you wear if your legs no longer (mine never did!) suit the cut off denim shorts and gladiator “uniform” that is trotted out at festivals and concerts all around Australia?
So what could you wear? You already know I’m a big fan of the maxi and I think it definitely has its place at a concert. Saw more than a few women rocking this look on Wednesday night at U2. Love this tube style – try it on, you will be surprised how flattering it really is.
Shorts are still and option. Look for a loose tailored pair that comes to just above the knee and team with a floaty top to stay cool.
Skip the sneakers and opt for strappy sandals for the finishing touch.

Nikki,
Heading to the Kylie concert early next month. Of course Kylie will have awesome fashion on stage! What do you recommend to wear? Needs to be relatively comfy but super fashionable as well? Was thinking lots of accessories to glam it up?
Live here on the coast so looking for advice on what can be purchased locally.
I am 6″ tall so flats are a must!
Appreciate your help.

Fun! I went to a Kylie concert about 10 years ago and people do get dressed up. I’d go with some skinny/slim leg pants or jeans – in black or dark denim and a dressy top – either with a good does of sparkle – or add it on with your accessories. Wearing a skinny or slip leg pant looks great with a ballet flat. Look for one with a little bit of a point to balance out your height and leg length.
I’m off to U2 next week.
Got some fab shorts from Morrison for the occasion – I could never pull off the short cut offs, but I can do knee length!

Oh, I have three pairs of Morrison shorts. LOVE wearing them and perfect fabric for a summer concert. Enjoy U2.
