As I was downing champagne like water following my one and only dance performance for Dancing with the Local Stars, a tweet came through from the lovely Shitika telling me I’d made Queensland’s Most Stylish List in today’s Sunday Mail.
As I looked down at my 70s-inspired, “Roll on Wisconsin” costume, the irony was not lost. But seriously, very excited to be on this list and super excited to see my friend and fashion designer Salita Matthews in there as well.
Now, speaking of my short-lived dancing career, I did come home with a trophy … for Most Challenging Routine. I think the challenge was not so much in the routine but in getting my brain to talk and coordinate with my legs. But anyways, this one’s now in the pool room.
And thanks to Sonia Kruger for hosting alongside Todd Widdicome from Hot 91 (Hey, Toddy, a couple of months ago it was Jen Hawkins, now Sonia … who’s next?) The event raised $65,000 for the Hear and Say Centre, which will help six hearing impaired kids learn to hear and speak through the centre in 2011.
… oh and does anyone want some slightly smelly size 9 silver glitter dancing shoes? I’ve hung them up. FOR GOOD.
PS. I’ve now relented and uploaded an edited version of my performance last night. Decided to cut out the bit where my top rides up and my white-lycra enclosed backside is front and centre for the camera. (Thanks Mr Styling You for capturing that special moment x)
