Fabulous Friday October 29, 2010: What’s made your week?

Nikki ParkinsonBeauty 13 Comments

Welcome to Fabulous Fridays – my weekly blog and video blog (vlog!) about the things that have made my week.   It’s all about the positive – and yes, you’ll find a little style tip as well. Let me know what you think?  And most importantly, what’s made your week.

Here’s what’s made my week

Printing off my e-ticket to Melbourne and Sydney.  I know, simple pleasures.  See, I love flying.  LOVE it.  Goes back to when I was a TAA junior flyer.  Geez, really showing my age now.  (TAA was the airline before Australian Airlines, which was the airline before Qantas.)  My brothers and I flew to Brisbane from Maryborough to visit our mum every month and got to wear a little gold winged badge and get stamps on our junior flyer card.  Basically, we felt special and that card made for great show-and-tells.

Now, that I’m an adult I don’t have gold wings, but there’s still a little bit of a child in me who feels a little bit special when I fly.  I get points, not stamps,  and this week I’m getting to fly to Melboune AND Sydney.  This is a big thing for me.  It’s usually my husband whose frequent flyer points I steal to buy essential items like wine glasses.  This week the tables have turned. The organisation required to actually be away from home for four days (two separate two-day trips) is mammoth.  But I’ve done it.  I’ve made it happen.

Will let you know how it all pans out but already thinking I’ll be spending quality time here, here, and here and here.  Oh and I’ll be hanging out with Mummy of Style and Substance and Mrs Woog.  Woo Hoo.

Beauty buzz of the week

Rodial Glamoxy Snake Serum $195

All the talk in beauty land has been about the arrival this week of Rodial – a cult UK beauty brand – on Australian shores.  Myer is the exclusive stockist and customer demand is expected to be huge.  More than 130,000 of its Glamoxy Snake Serum (yes, that’s right, I said snake!) has sold since February this year, and can you believe 10,000  were ordered online by Aussie women?  Victoria Beckham, Cheryl Cole and Kate Bosworth love it.   Other celebs lining up for their fave Rodial products are Eva Mendes (she loves the Brazilian Tan) and Scarlett Johansson (Boob Job for her). This one launches here in Feburary, 2011.

Back to the Snake Serum ($195 for 25ml) … it’s a neuropeptide that mimics the effects of the Temple Viper’s potent venom, to instantly lift the face, freeze muscles and plump fine lines and wrinkles.  I’ve tried a little sample sachet and certainly can feel an instant effect.  Will keep you posted on any longer lasting effects.   If you’ve been using it for some time, let me know what you think.  I’m super curious.
