Fabulous Friday October 22. What’s made your week?

Welcome to Fabulous Fridays – my weekly blog and video blog (vlog!) about the things that have made my week.   It’s all about the positive – and yes, you’ll find a little style tip as well. Let me know what you think?  And most importantly, what’s made your week.

Here’s what’s made my week

This week is dedicated to my eldest son.  If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter you would already know that I’m a very proud mum.  Well, this week the pride was overflowing. He’s 15 – and a very smart young man. (Let’s just say he has the nickname Sheldon and those of you who love The Big Bang Theory will get this.)  Last week I told you how he was off to Melbourne for the national Future Problem Solving titles.  Well, on Sunday morning I got this text: “Going to America we came third”.  He may be big on brain is but he sure is short on words.   His team of five had qualified for the international finals … in Wisconsin … in June next year.  I’m going to sound like a US sitcom addict here but as soon as they said Wisconsin, the first thing I thought of was That ’70s Show … and Ashton Kutcher.

Anyways, the upshot of all this is that the team is super excited and the parents are putting their collective brains (probably the equivalent of one of their children’s) together to come up with sponsorship and fundraising ideas.  If you have any or would like to help this team get there (without me having to cut my shopping budget for the next six months) drop me a line.

And then on top of that, he got his braces off after 18 months.  The grinning hasn’t stopped.

Beauty find of the week

Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid with organic lemon oil $15.95

I’ve banged on often enough about Lanolips, you’ve probably already been out buying a truckload of the stuff.  What, I hear you say? You haven’t?  You’ve been waiting for another compelling reason to do so? Well, listen up because it’s here:  Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid with Organic Lemon Oil ($15.95). This stuff is seriously good. It’s like wearing a really yummy citrus tart on your lips without the calories.  Calories it doesn’t have but benefits it does. Think naturally exfoliated, soft, moist lips (thanks organic lemon oil) and a hint of shimmer.  See, the citric acid in the lemon oil works at those dry skin cells on the lips. You might even feel a slight tingling going on.  To me, it’s more like a slight fizz, much like lemonade.   Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid hits the counter on Sunday (October 24).  Find a tester at David Jones, Myer, Priceline and selected pharmacies (ph 02 9663 4277), smack some on, fall in love and immediately buy six tubes (it’s limited edition stuff).  I guarantee you’ll love it.  www.lanolips.com

  1. My scan made my week! Knowing that all is ok. Can’t believe I’ve finally made it to half way 🙂

Meanwhile I’m going to buy about 15 tubes of Lanolips when Nat and I go shopping later on today… we’re glittering up for Adam Lambert tonight. The name “Lemonaid” was what hooked me!
