Fabulous Friday September 10: what’s made your week?

Welcome to Fabulous Fridays – my weekly blog and video blog (vlog!) about the things that have made my week.   It’s all about the positive – and yes, you’ll find a little style tip as well. Let me know what you think?  And most importantly, what’s made your week.

1.  Modelling.  Yes me.  At the ripe old age of 40-something, and certainly not walking around boasting model proportions, I was asked to model Metalicus for Sunshine Coast boutique, Soul Diva.   I helped prove that this label really is one-size fits most (you just have to choose wisely!) … but I did not look anything like this gorgeous thing below …

2.  Dancing.  It’s week 3 of Dancing with the Local Stars* training and I’m happy to report that I find it difficult sitting down.  Which means that the training is working.  My brain my still be a little slow in talking to my feet about some of the moves but apart from burning quads, no injuries so far.  Bring on the sequins and spray tan! {This is all for charity – this event raises funds for the Hear and Say Centre on the Sunshine Coast.}

3.  It’s expo time.  Tomorrow I’m spending the day at the Sunshine Coast Women’s Lifestyle Expo.  I’ve been busily getting my exhibit together – as well as my Switch on Your Personal Style workshop {11.30am}.  Come see me all day for for advice and some great products from Katiebo, Lanolips, Borne Naked, Verily, Twenty8 and Hats by Sandy A and details about a girls’ day out shopping/styling trip I’m doing with White House Celebrations.  If you live locally, entry is free at the Lake Kawana Community Centre … and we have chocolate cupcakes from the Cupcake Teahouse in Buderim as a way to bribe you to come visit.

Katiebo turquoise cuff $49.95. Available from me at the expo!

4.   Sale alert!  Oh, how I love a good sale … and this one is not only online it’s VERY good.  The gorgeous Bronnie Curnow at Beautiful Gifts has reduced everything by 40% {Do I need to tell you how many weeks there ISN’T until Christmas to get you clicking over there now?}.  Here’s just one example – Royal Doulton Reeds are normally $39.95, now $23.97.  Non-synthetic frangrances that last for up to seven months.  What’s not to love?

  1. Great Blog this week Nikki. What has made my week, is that my girlfriend of almost 18 years is flying in from Sydney to stay with me next week, whilst I have an operation. I havent seen her in almost 13 years, but we keep contact. I am so grateful that she could come and look after me and Kodey. True Friendship. Never ever take it for granted. Have a fabulous Friday xxx

      1. I will get to spend some quality time with her, as I will be housebound for a week. Her son has grown up and she misses spending time with him, so she is looking forward to hanging out with Kodey. She is going to teach him some cooking tips, (yay for mummy) and go shopping with him. I hope everything goes smoothly too, thanks Nikki. I may see you tomorrow at the Womens Expo. If not, good luck with it, hope you have a great day. Leis x
