Jen Hawkins unveils Lovable lingerie’s summer collection

I’m sitting here working with the French doors open for the first time in months.  Today I can feel spring in the air and it has me excited about season ahead.  The pedi has been booked for Saturday and I may even bare my pasty legs at the beach this weekend {umm … maybe …}

One of the most exciting things I’m involved with this Spring is the Wishlist Sunshine Coast Health Foundation’s Spring Carnival Gala on Septemer 17.   It is THE biggest charity event on the Sunshine Coast.  We have 590 people booked and ready for an amazing afternoon that includes a whole bunch of stuff, including fundraising for a dedicated children’s section in the emergency department at Nambour General Hospital and fashion by Myer Maroochydore. Co-host is Sunrise’s Natalie Barr and special guest is the one and only Jennifer Hawkins.

I don’t know about you but Jen really does epitomise spring and I’m more than a little bit intimidated that I’ll be judging Fashions on the Field alongside her {I’ve asked my milliner to create a very tall hat to make up the height difference and I’ve already booked the spray tan!}. I mean this is someone who models her own swimsuit range and is an ambassador for lingerie company, Lovable.   Geez, what was I thinking?

And speaking of her Lovable role, yesterday Jen unveiled the lingerie brand’s spring 2010 collection at Sydney’s Bondi Beach.  She looked all lovely, gorgeous and “springy”.  Lovable is daring us to bare all with this sexy collection.  Jen wasn’t in Lovable on the day (she was for the new campaign images) but a posse of Lovable models were … handing out ice-cream and Lovable lingerie to people who dropped by.  Why the ice-cream?  The collection features sorbet-coloured undies and bras.  Very summer.  Very Jen.

What I like about the colours is that they transform comfy, everyday essentials into cheeky and sexy – no boring beige in sight.

Check out Lovable’s new Facebook page. Just by “Liking” you could win 1 of 6 new Apple iPads.  {Oh, and one of them is definitely mine!}

The summer collections are available at Myer, David Jones, Farmers and Smith & Caughey, plus selected boutiques across Australia and New Zealand. Lovable is also available online at from the end of August 2010.

    Hi Jade – so true – but at least maternity bras are not as bad as they used to be!
    Hi Sharon – love it! My husband is to blame for the boring beige label. He prefers anything but … which is not so good when I love white tees and shirts! The difference maybe in the terminology – for outerwear it’s called nude, blush or champagne!! And then again, maybe it’s best not to find reason in the world of fashion.

  3. A conundrum – why is it that beige underwear is considered “boring”, but this season all the designers are telling us we need to wear nude outerwear/accessories? Anyone?
