Fabulous Friday: August 27. What’s made your week?

Nikki ParkinsonLife 15 Comments

Thanks to my buy of the week, Fabulous Fridays will be a little bit different from now on.  I bought a nifty little gadget, a Sony Bloggie pocket camcorder, this week and have decided to do a little video blog each Friday.   The focus is still on the positive but they’re also be a little style tip to help you through the weekend an into the next week.  Let me know what you think?  And most importantly, what’s made your week.

My top 5:

1. I really do live in paradise.  Last Saturday sitting on a near-desserted Tea Tree Bay beach was magic. Have you taken a day trip in your local region lately?

This seriously was the view in Noosa National Park last Saturday

2.  My Mimco handbag bargain.  That trip to Noosa also included a lap of Hastings Street where I picked up a fab new work bag for 20% off the reduced price.

3.  Good friends.  I’m blessed to have some amazing girlfriends.  I love that I can pick up the phone or meet in the park with the kids and talk through the good, the bad and the ugly.

4.  Women working together in business.  This week my good friend and mentor Bronwyn Armstrong launched her High Heels and Steep Caps business development program.  I’m just one of the faciliators in a bunch of incredible women ready to help new businesses on the Sunshine Coast.

5. Country Road and Trenery stores offer shopping online.  About time and very welcome.

STYLE TIP of the week:

Can you remember what you wore last summer?  This is the last weekend in winter. Why not take some time to go through your wardrobe and check?  This will help you to form a wishlist for the new season ahead.

This week on the blog:

Nail a manicure that lasts … so loving CND Shellac right now

Pregnant? This is maternity wear you’ll actually wear

A Carefree life … or just 30 minutes … I wish

Saucy & Lucille make a splash with flirty, feminine swimwear

Don’t forget to leave a comment below …  tell me what’s made your week?

  1. Hey Nikki,

Took a moment out … to have a squiz at the new blog …It was really lovely to see you there in person!! ..I am all for the tip on the Spring/Summer wardrobe and plan on doing that asap! …I do have a question for you! I have soooo many items that I want to get rid of – but they are not the sort of things you put in the bin or the charity bin (they could easily end up in landfill)…Let me know if you have any out-of-the-box suggestions!! …Take care, Barbara.

    1. Hi Barb. Thanks for stopping by – and yes, I do have a solution for you:

Tree of Cotton is a lovely little pre-loved clothing and giftware store located in Eumundi. It is looking for good quality ladies pre-loved clothing, shoes and acccessories.

If you have items which are just sitting in your closet collecting dust, Bernadette can sell them for you. You will receive 40% of the sale price for each item eg: last year’s Melbourne Cup dress sells for $100 you receive $40. It’s that easy.

If you are interested email [email protected] or you are welcome to visit – Shop C 97 Memorial Drive up the laneway next to the Hemp Hut.

Well done on your pt. I’ve got my first practice session for Dancing with the Local Stars tonight. My body is in for a shock!! xx

  3. Oh you are so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of Australia and the weather is gorgeous too…. oh to be warm again!

Melbourne is finally getting up to 19/20 degrees next week… yes, that is HUGE for us! *sigh

I’m going through my wardrobe at the moment… I really don’t need anymore clothes or shoes for summer (OMG.. did I really say that?).
I have so many skirts, 3/4 length jeans (essential mummywear!) and tops! Erm just need to drop a size and fit into them! Eeek!

Well.. must go and finish that job… xx

Hi Kellie, yes we are very lucky. But often guilty of not enjoying the location more. I cannot believe that have just announced to the world you don’t need any more summer clothes! Hope your husband doesn’t read it!! And the other essential mummywear for summer is a good selection of dresses that can be dressed up or down at a moment’s notice. xx
