Francis Leon my have celebrated its winter launch last night but all eyes are firmly fixed on the Spring 2010 season ahead. The “Threee” collection was unveiled in the Rosemount Designer Showroom last month as part of Australian Fashion Week and in August, and Brisbane fashionistas will get a taste of this designer duo’s talent at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane.
Former high school besties, Jo Turner and Katy Lysaught, are behind the Francis Leon label. Its designs are timeless and aimed at women who like their fashion straight up elegant, sophisticated and with a strong sense of style. It’s anything but fast fashion and their design studio/concept store in Fortitude Valley is testament to this.
The Threee collection features summer dresses, sharp and sleek corporate wear, casual-wear and jackets to complete the fashion picture. Look for signature touches such as unexpected fabrications, a hint of sportswear worked into feminine pieces and structured garments contrasted by soft drapery. There are some new highlights this spring and I’m loving the elegant tea dresses.
The Francis Leon retail store, Studio One, is located at 65 James Street, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. The concept store is designed to give customers a unique insight into the creative process at the heart of Francis Leon, with the open-plan space divided between the store and the working design studio. www.francisleon.com
